Everyone on Twitter is responding to Adam’s “recognize it?” with “It’s the key Regina used to break into Snow’s apartment!” So maybe but I grant that it being in a Hook episode little sense.
Macy: there is no such thing as over analyzing here at OncePodcast!
RG, I think you’re right after all. It’s the key that Henry used to get into Mary Margaret’s apartment. Only, it’s not a skull on the key. It’s an apple. Yep, a deliciously poinsed apple for Mary Margaret. Here’re some higher resolution pics:

Slurpeez you rock! Yeah, they are the same, or at least like 99.9%
HappyEndings asked about the keys to the cell. It’s not the same. The one to the cell is a skull.

Those photos were from a dedicated fan on Tumblr. They are indisputable in my opinion.
Now, why would Regina’s key to Mary Margaret’s apartment show up in Hook’s backstory? I really don’t have any idea except that maybe they key opens something else, too. Or maybe Adam is just being a troll and and that key is there to make the fandom explode for no good reason.

Maybe Regina can bewtich the key to open other things?
