I haven’t read anything to confirm that idea; it’s just pure fan speculation at this point.

It’s just speculation right now since the Sheriff who must not be named last year around the same time, people are speculating that they’ll kill off another important character around the middle of the season.
I would guess maybe Pinocchio though just because Eion Bailey now finding a new show that he’s going to be the lead on and being demoted from regular to recurring at the beginning of this season, but I think if they kill him off it would be closer to the end of this season so that he can try to help Neal explain to Emma what happened.
Although I’m not sure they would actually kill off any of Disney’s iconic characters, which is why I’m not sure that they’ll kill off Archie either because Jiminy Cricket is almost as iconic as Pinocchio.December 1, 2012 at 11:04 pm #163150fairy dustParticipantOk…..I think that the title has something to do with DARTS. Cricket is a Dart game and a simplified version of Cricket is called Mickey Mouse. Considering there is a dart board in the Sheriff’s office, Graham played darts ANDthere is a huge dart board in the main promo picture for Season 2…I’m guessing it has something to do with this. Is it possible Graham will return?????

Also….episode 17 of Season One, “Hat Trick” is a sports term that can also apply to the game of darts called Cricket. Soooooooo….that give me lots to think about….Graham…Henry…Jefferson…and maybe even Robin Hood.

I reckon they’d have to keep August around for at least a little bit longer. He’s entangled in Emma and Neal’s story, so will be involved in their reconciliation somehow. And they still need to show his proper reunion with his father too.
David Anders just got cast in Arrow, but I dunno what his status is on that show. Blurbs I read made it sound like he’s gonna be their next big villain though, so I’m gonna guess it’s a recurring role. If they had plans to kill him off on Once though, it wouldn’t happen before the stuff with his brother is resolved.

Hopefully no one uses Archie as target practice.

If that’s true that seriously diminishes their options on what to doo with their characters. I’m not saying its not true, but how rude and unfair it is 👿 if the death of iconic villains of Disney is acceptable but not the death of iconic heroes… Ones again I’m on the bad guys side.

Okay! now I difinetly think that’ cricket game, is going to be darts and not the english field game.. because of the Mickey Mouse thing.
Maybe Archie isn’t the target board but the dart arrow. And he’s going to hit bulls eye with something or someone… Maybe regarding someones motives for doing something (sorry for weaving a bit here 😆 ).
He is the shrink, so he could hit the bulls eye on Coras relationship with Regina, but that could very well get him in lots of trouble, hence the big explosive things coming at him remark…December 2, 2012 at 2:46 pm #163249antbeeParticipant@fairy dust wrote:

You always find the coolest information, fairy dust.
I agree with medchen, this does seem to make more sense because of the Mickey Mouse connection, and most Americans would be familiar with darts than they would cricket since most follow baseball instead. Plus, I think a darts game as metaphor for something going on during the episode would not only be easier for Americans to get, but might make more sense because there’s a target, and there are two players, or perhaps in this case two teams (good vs. evil) that are aiming for that target.

Well perhaps they will let an iconic hero or heroes die, but it just seems unlikely to me right now because outside of the show, those characters, especially the Disney princess line, make a lot of money for Disney, so they might not want to risk killing them off on the show for fear of hurting their bottom line. I don’t think that it would, but there’s a lot of money to be made from those characters outside of the show, so I can understand Disney being concerned about things like that.
Just imagine the headlines that the media would come up with if the OUaT killed off Snow White, like “Disney kills Snow White”, and then kids seeing Snow die on the show. There would not only be a backlash from lifelong loyal Disney patrons who Disney feels might decide to turn their backs on the company for letting them kill off an iconic, beloved character, but they would also have to think about the kids who would see the headlines and see Snow White dying on the show. They might not have bought Snow White merchandise before that event, but then again, maybe, Disney thinks, they would have had their favorite Disney princess not been killed off.
It might also have the adverse effect of them not getting lured in on being a lifelong loyal Disney patron because they try to get the kids, especially the girls, in believing the fairy tale can come true for everyone. However, if one of the Disney princesses like Snow dies, then maybe that means happy endings don’t really happen which means that those kids don’t get reeled in and they spend their money on other brands not only as kids but later on as adults. So that kid grows up to be an adult with a family, but a family vacation to a Disney resort might not be something that person can’t resist, so he/she chooses to take their family and their money elsewhere. Of course, if that person had chosen Disney, then the whole cycle is just waiting to start again so that Disney can reel that person’s kids in. (For the record, Disney definitely got me at an early age, and I still love them.)
December 12, 2012 at 5:57 pm #164705MyrilParticipantLooks like killing off Sheriff Graham on the show traumatized a lot of people for the rest of their (OUaT) lives. Maybe should launch a virtual therapy group. 😉
That is interesting about the dart game cricket. But, btw, the term hat-trick is used in many sports, it is said to come from the bat-and-ball game cricket.
Think whatever cricket version the writers thought of, we should expect that there will some sort of game or match go on (plenty of players, teams in town) – and a good guess is that Archie is right in the middle of it. Stating just the obvious. 😛
Archie comes with some baggage. He became a cricket and the conscience because he felt guilty. Remember, he is responsible, that Geppetto lost his parents. He knew Rumple, his parents had dealings with him. Jiminey didn’t manage to leave his awful parents on his own and asked Rumple for a way to get free of them. The potion he got though was later switched by Archies’s father, and so instead Geppetto’s parents were turned into wooden puppets (and those can be found in Mr. Gold’s shop). Maybe Hook or Cora get to him because of all that, appealing to Archie’s still existing guilty feelings. Not to mention he is probably the only one trying to give Regina a real chance – not least because Archie believes in redemption for his own good. Archie might try to mediate and then make things only worse for everybody.
¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

There are so many ways this episode could go. We did see Graham throw a hat trick when he was throwing darts in Granny’s diner during the Heart is a Lonley Hunter episode. Of course the word hat trick also has the image of three things going into a hat…so we think of Jefferson. And then in the episode with Archie and his parents we have Archie and his parents trying to trick Gepetto’s parents…and we have Archie trying to trick his own parents…and we have Archie’s parents trying to trick him. In the Cricket Game we have Regina’s mother showing up…and of course Regina tried to trick her mother sending Hook in to kill her and we end up with Cora tricking Regina by pretending to be dead. We have Hook coming…who tricked Rumple into thinking he had the bean in his hand. We have Emma who tricked Hook when she hand-cuffed him. Lots of tricking going on.
Seeing that this is the first episode we have where Cora and Rumple will be back in Storybrooke it seems that this will not just be a Archie centered episode. How they decide to play this out will be very interesting.
