I love how Adam’s got his cheery Christmas tweet and ends it all, “Oh PS. The Queen Is Dead.” Talk about killing the festive mood, dude. 😛
So many interesting options for what it could mean and which Queen it’s referring to. Hmmm.

Interesting theory. I could definitely see Cora doing that.
When I read the title of the episode, the first thing I thought of was “Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead.” Could be interesting if they had Cora be a Witch from Oz.

The fact that they haven’t released the name of the actress cast for Katerina suggests to me that perhaps she bears a striking resemblance to Snow, and we know something happened to Snow’s mother, (I won’t believe she actually died until they show me a body), so she could be the Queen in the title. Or perhaps the King (George?) who YoungCora wanted to marry already had a wife, so she had to get rid of her? Would they kill off Cora in SB? I’d hope not.
January 2, 2013 at 2:36 am #166757MyrilParticipantPretty much any writer on the shows I’ve watched liked to toy with episode titles, seldom giving away in any straight way what’s happening in the episode. And a number seem to love to get inspiration for titles from music or literature. So, not sure yet, if there will be a dead queen in this episode at all. But one never knows with these guys here.
So, yup: The Queen is dead. Long lives the queen.
And while thinking about the title am listening to the song of The Smiths, The Queen is dead… (whose song How soon Is Now was used in a covered version as title song for the series Charmed by the way)
Very much doubt they would kill off Cora at this point of the season, if they ever do it, it’s more season finale material (and no, I am not saying, they should kill her, nor is this any spoiler, it’s an opinion, to be clear about it). I mean, they kinda already tried to kill her once this season, or Regina did, so if they successfully do it I expect some spectacle of them, and big, huge spectacular is something for season finals.
Hannah97‘s idea for a story has something, although sounds too much for just one episode. Would think, that Cora took terrible revenge if any man would have done something like that to her (well, could explain the potion which made King Georg’s wife infertile). But it would mean, Regina is King Georg’s daughter – and that doesn’t sit right with me (but make Henry’s familie tree a bit more complicate)
So, maybe, if there is any dead queen in the episode, might be Snow’s mother. Or Aurora’s – hmmm, she got the best of Maleficent, didn’t sound to me like she’s dead, or at least wasn’t killed. On the other hand Aurora hasn’t ask for her mother, or anyone else from her family, makes one wonder.
Wonder, why everybody thinks, this episode will have a Cora background story line. Did I miss something? What is the source for that?
¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

Yes, for now I’m assuming that Aurora’s family have died somehow, because you’d think she’d have mentioned finding her family by now if they were still around, especially considering she did mention her mother, but in the past tense. If this ep is about Snow’s mother’s death, I’m not yet convinced she really died, or if everyone just thought she had, so that could be a play on words with the ep title.

That was speculation based on Rose McGowan’s casting for YoungCora, but now that we have the title for ep16, it’s probably safe to say that that will be the ep Rose is in, with Cora’s backstory, and this ep won’t have anything to do with Cora after all.

Thanks. Thought it was that, but one never knows, could have been more another spoiler out there,

January 5, 2013 at 1:15 am #167013MyrilParticipantNew info (ha, big sister is watching 😆 )
Bailee Madison tweeted a few hours ago, that she landed in Vancouver, back to play young Snow again. And Lesley Nicol tweeted a couple of hours ago to be on her way to Vancouver. She wrote on Twitter as well by the way, that she thinks she is playing some servant, but definitely not Mrs. Potts.
Guessing that they are or will soon start filming for this episode. So think it looks more and more like we are going to have the story of Snow White’s mother in this episode. The Queen is dead – well, she might be.
¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯
January 6, 2013 at 3:48 pm #167131PheeParticipantAh yes. the presence of YoungSnow pretty much confirms that this ep will be about what happened to her mother. Can’t wait to find out!
January 13, 2013 at 6:58 pm #168150eirelandParticipantI think Kitsiss and Horowitz are trying to make the evil regals loose their… selves. Over this title.
The title COULD just be relating to the FTL stuff that will be (i.e. Snow’s mother is dead)…
It COULD be Cora (Queen of Hearts). I’d be okay wit that. But it seems a bit early in the season to wrap up the “big bad”?
It COULD be Regina… Just saying… 🙂I like the idea that we might see what happened to Aurora's mother. That will bring some clarity. That will also explain the whole… ages, Sleeping Beauty storyline, etc). And let us see Malificient again!
