I posted this in the 2×4 thread, but it’s also relevant here. After watching 2×4, The Crocodile, we know Captain Hook followed a magical bean, which opened an underwater vortex to Neverland. The title for 2×7 is Into the Deep, and I think it may refer to the crew’s journey to Neverland and what happened after Hook’s ship pulled into port there.

Maybe we’ll meet a certain mermaid. I could see the writers easily blending the mermaids of Neverland with The Little Mermaid fairy-tale.

Also, I wonder if Baelfire’s bean led him to Neverland, so that he became Peter Pan. If Bae finds out about his mother, Milha, running off with Killian, I could see that sparking the famous rivalry between Peter Pan and Hook. Peter might blame Hook for taking away his mother.

I was thinking last night we might see Ariel in Neverland. Probably even Peter too since that is his home.

    We might never see Neverland.

I for one would be very disappointed if we never see Neverland on this show. Yet, I think we’ll at least catch a glimpse of it sometime in S2, since Peter Pan is Edward Kitsis’ favorite fairytale.

Maybe. I think it depends on whether or not everyone goes together to another realm at some point. I could see that. No more of this being split up thing though if they don’t know how to make it work.

It’s a little early to be doing Ariel, don’t you think? There’s been so much hype built up over that character, and I think she deserves to be introduced a little later when there’s not so much going on.

It wasn’t long ago that I think they said they weren’t sure when she’d be introduced yet. But then I got to thinking about how this could be a good fit for her. If Hook’s ship is travelling through the ocean to get to Neverland, the boat may be in bad shape when it gets to the other side, and he may need rescuing, and Ariel meets her prince when she saves him from being drowned when his ship is caught in a storm. They could have an unhappy ending in the middle of their Neverland romance, (the original Little Mermaid story didn’t have their happy ending together), and perhaps Ariel ended up in SB, and they’ll reunite when he gets there too. Perhaps.

Anyway, I’m not necessarily pinning any hopes on that theory, because like I said, they’ve hinted that Ariel isn’t on the cards just yet. But if that’s just a fake out, and they’re actually planning to spring her on us sooner, I could see that as a way they might work her into the story.

Yeah, in that scenario I mentioned, Hook = Eric. Dunno if they’d go that route of turning Hook into a prince, but I don’t think Eric really has an elaborate, hard and fast backstory, does he? So they could really make him anyone they liked. In both the original by Hans Christian Anderson, and the Disney version, Ariel meets her prince when she saves him from drowning in a storm. And we just saw Hook’s ship go into the ocean, so I’d buy it that he could need rescuing by a mermaid at some point along his underwater portal trip.

I think Hook might just be evil and that is it.
