I hate to say it, because I’ve been on the Bae is Peter Pan theory since February, but I think Ethan might be Peter Pan. Doesn’t mean I’m giving up on Neal/Bae/Peter but I’ve got to be realistic here. This is what leads me to this conclusion.
1) He has blond hair and blue eyes. That’s how we all kind of envision Peter to look like.
2) Hook is now in SB so it would make sense that his nemesis shows up as well. Besides, why are they keeping his character’s name from us? Maybe because they don’t want to give it away?
3) He is said to be a stranger that shows up from the outside. In JM Barrie’s book, Peter is around 7 years of age. Let’s say that he was visiting our world when the curse hit and was trapped here for 28 years. That would make him 7+28=35 years old. Embry is 34. Would explain his coming to SB and being able to enter because he is in fact a fairy tale character.
4) They say he is not a fairy tale character, at least, not one that anyone recognizes. Well, if he were Peter, only those from Neverland like Hook and Smee knew him and as a young boy of 7 at that. They certainly wouldn’t recognize him now at 35.
5) They say J.M. Barrie got the name Neverland from a 1902 play, The Never Never Land, written by Wilson BARRETT.
6) Brent BARRETT is playing Hook in the current production of Peter Pan alongside of Cathy Rigby.
As per Phee, funny that Barrett’s first order of business seems to be taking Hook out with his car (as seen in the Canadian 2×11 promo). Peter’s revenge???
I’ve considered other characters that went between our world and other worlds. There was the Wizard of Oz. However, he was a full grown man when he went to Oz. If he were back in the real world, once the curse hit, he would have aged another 28 years thus making him at least in his 50’s. If he were trapped in Oz then he wouldn’t be a stranger coming from the outside. So that rules him out.
I’m still hoping for Neal to be Peter & Bae combined but also wise enough to know that Embry is looking like the front runner at this point.
Regardless of who he turns out to be, January and February’s episodes are certainly looking to be mind blowing with lots of surprises! Can’t wait!

December 15, 2012 at 10:58 pm #165145TheGoldenKeyParticipantWould it surprise anyone to know that J.M. Barrie based the name Neverland on a play that came out in 1902 called The Never Never Land, written by Wilson Barrett.
As well, isn’t Barrett suppose to be in episode 2×11? They are currently filming episode 2×14. Ethan flew out on December 10th and returned on the 12th. So I don’t know.

I thought so too at first, however, his age is tripping me up. If Professor Marvel was caught in the curse, wouldn’t they know him in town? If he weren’t caught in it, it would be because he was outside of Oz, in the real world. That means he would have aged 28 years since first going to Oz as a grown man. That would make him no younger than his early 50’s. So I don’t see how that can work, unless………………..
We still don’t know what happened to the other worlds once the curse hit. Are those worlds still intact or destroyed like the Enchanted Forest? If intact, where all the story book characters frozen in time, for the last 28 years, there or were they brought to SB?
IF Oz remained intact and IF the characters spent their 28 years frozen there, then yes, he certainly could be the Wizard. Maybe he’s journeyed back to the real world and SB to figure out what the heck happened the last 28 years.

Just throwing this out there…..considering all the other Dead Zone (Stephen King) nods –
Johnny Smith’s ‘gift’ was considered a dark side.
He had to feircely defend his way of life (visions of the future/past) repeatedly – when no one believed in him.Among other DZ eps titles having to do with OUAT, there is one titled “The Outsider”

Also, besides being the beast from Beauty and the Beast, Rumpel is Peter Pan because like Peter Pan, Rumpel never grows old. Peter and Rumpel are immortal.

Gypsy and I have talked about that. I at first thought the same as you. However, Peter Pan was able to travel to the real world. Very important part of Neverland and the story itself. Rumple couldn’t. Thus, it eliminates that theory. Beside, Peter Pan was K&H’s favourite story. Doubt they’d let it go that easily.

Being immortal isn’t the same thing as never growing up – adults can be immortal (in stories, anyway) -
