ModeratorMekia Cox’s dream has literally come true.
The Once Upon a Time newcomer actually worked at the Magic Kingdom as a kid, but was unable to move up to the rank of princess because, well, there wasn’t one she could portray. But thanks to the debut of Tiana in 2009’s The Princess and the Frog, Cox now gets to bring the first black Disney princess to life on OUAT.
The bubbly Tiana will play a vital role in the Enchanted Forest — check back for more on that soon! — but in Hyperion Heights, her counterpart Sabine is living with Jacinda (Dania Ramirez) as she aims to achieve her dream of being a chef. (EW was on set for a, let’s say, sweet scene involving her character’s animated history.) Below, Cox teases her new character.

ParticipantAnd then Tiana, it was about 10 years ago.
Im sorry, what??? Is already starting, the actors not knowing what happens on the show, so everyone knows that there is a time jump at the beginning of the episode 701, that in a way fits with Henry having 17 or 18, and them being on 2017 like Adam said, but now the cast says that 10 years have pass.
With all this timeline stuff, I’m wondering if Lucy is really Henry bio daughter."I offended you with my opinion? Ha, you should hear the ones I keep to myself".

ParticipantHenry is still significantly older when he meets Cinderella. Lucy is ten. That means at least fifteen years have gone by not ten. I think the only explanation is, like others have said, that time moves faster in the Fairytale land 2. Though it is not 2017. I have no idea why anyone is saying that. Henry is at least 3 years older before he leaves Storybrooke.

Adam said that present show happens in 2017, that fits with Henry scene in SB, they were in 2013 in S6 ending and 4 years later if we take in consideration their bad Henry timeline birthday, he will have 17/18 in 2017, when he leaves SB, yes the time pass on EF 2 may happen faster, but in that case is impossible to say how many time has pass, in S6 is easy to say that in dark realm , in one day Gideon grew 28 years, but on EF2 how do they know how many time passes in a day?
In the end, it will look like , in SB only done months passed since Henry left, but on EF2 like 20 years have passed?? And how does Gideon fits in this? Giles will appear on a flashback of last year, or will they contradict the SB timeline as well, by saying that after all 20 years have passed, but all characters still look young."I offended you with my opinion? Ha, you should hear the ones I keep to myself".

ParticipantLol you guys get on the time line portion and here I am getting all misty eyed because Mekia talked about how she wanted to be a Disney princess at Disney however had no roles to addition for.
That seriously hit home because I can relate to the struggles of being a POC who loves sci-fi-fantasy however seldom saw characters who resemble her.
Either way Mekia sounds absolutely adorable and I really want to see how she brings Tiana to life

side note: Wonders if rumple will be her Gator. Since he is the crocodile.

ParticipantI think it is interesting that neither Regina or Tiana are doing very many scene with Tremaine. It really does make it seem like she isn’t really the villain at all.
The reason the timeline is discussed is because, in my opinion, that is the easy part to get right. If the writers can’t get that right, such a simple thing to get right, then they can’t get emotional growth and consistency right and that is why their characterization is a mess and that is why the show is a mess.
This is just a symptom of the real problem with the show and that is bad characterization because of a completely lack of ability to even be the tiniest bit organized or consistent.

Yes! How awesome for her! Hopefully one day there will be many roles for little girls like her to aspire to portray in the parks.

I get where you are coming from. The timeline makes very little sense to me. However I given up on their timeline.
This show can be a hot mess however there is something exciting and intriguing about this season to me. Maybe its simply Tiana, maybe its morbid curiosity of seeing how this revamped will actually play out, either way I am interested to know what happen. Perhaps, I will regret only after 4 episode, maybe I will end up loving the whole season. Who knows? However at least my interest is peaked so that’s a starting point for me.
@ry4christ yes I agree its nice to see more and more diversity these days."I will be kind but I will speak my mind."
