JMO just did a podcast and had this to say about hopes for S7. Sounds like she’s up for a S7 but that’s it and TBH I think that should be the end. It all depends on ABC.
My contract ends in April on Once Upon a Time and, you know, I don’t know what that means. It’s like, they haven’t picked up the show officially yet, they might, they might not.”
April is the end of the original contract, so we’re just kind of waiting now to see if the network decides to continue with the show and if they do continue with the show if they’re going to make it be something else or if they’re gonna invite people to stay. We’re just kind of in a holding pattern right now.”
It’s really complicated because I have like a really fierce loyalty to the show. In a certain way I’m fiercely protective of the character and I feel like so many amazing things have come to my life because of it, you know, it’s like really made my life better in so many ways. And I don’t have any interest in abandoning something that is such a special part of my life but I also know I don’t have it in me to do it forever. So it’s more about a life decision kind of thing and I don’t even know how to make that life decision until I know what ABC even wants.”

Umm no that’s not what that says. She very clearly says she does not want to abandon the character or the show. Do you even bother reading ever?
Sounds like she’s willing to stay one more year to end the show but she doesn’t want to play Emma forever. Which is obvious much like all the other actors don’t want to play their characters forever. It all depends on ABC.
We can probably be safe to say that out of all the castmembers JMO is probably the one they’re least likely to let go of. Emma is the glue that holds the show together.
Bobby probably the most likely.
It seems obvious the entire cast from S1 need to renew their contracts this year for another season.
January 12, 2017 at 1:14 pm #332578RumplesGirlKeymasterIf Bobby does depart, I wonder if they’ll ask him to keep a flexible schedule for guest appearances as Past!Rumple for flashbacks.

If OUAT gets renewed for a final S7 I can see it being a simple 13 episode season. Bobby could come back for 3-4 of those with Emilie or something.

Yeah like if this isn’t a blatant example of only seeing what you want to see I don’t know what is. She did say she doesn’t want to do it forever, as any actor usually says after 6 seasons of doing the same stuff, but she also said she would never abandon it. So I don’t know what you’re reading. I have to think you were being sarcastic and joking.
January 12, 2017 at 2:22 pm #332583PriceofMagicParticipantI think Bobby would stick it out to the end if he was told that season 7 was definitely the final season of the show.
It’s possible OUAT might do an Angel eg take a couple of the characters, shift them to a new location and have occasional crossovers where some of the old cast might appear, give some exposition on Storybrooke, perhaps have the cast revisit Storybrooke for an episode, etc. It’s essentially a spin off without being an actual spinoff like Wonderland was.
The main issue would be though which characters to take across? People like some characters more than others eg Hook is not favoured by all. I think only 2-3 characters would be taken across. Emma, Henry and (because of CS) Hook seem the most likely. However, nobody cares about Henry so to try and pull him into even more focus is a risk because he can be really annoying at times.
Regina is iffy because she wouldn’t want to be away from Henry but the strength of her story relies on Snow and how she’s overcome being the EQ trying to kill Snow to being family with Snow. Without Snow, Regina’s role just becomes Henry’s other mother.
Zelena is tied to Regina so where Regina goes, Zelena goes too.
RumBelle won’t go across. Their story is basically break up and make up for various reasons on repeat. Even as a big RumBelle fan, it starts to get ridiculously repetitive because there is no respite of happy times.
Snowing won’t go. Their story is practically done.
Emma is the best bet because of her experience in the outside world and through that she can meet other characters.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixJanuary 12, 2017 at 5:22 pm #332587hjbauParticipantI was not sarcastic or joking. Jennifer wants off the show and that is what she said. I could see her doing another season as an ending for Emma, but that is it. I understand that you guys disagree because you only see what you want to see and are unable to understand what the actor is just trying to say in a nice way, but she wants off the show. She doesn’t have it in her to do it forever and she has to do what is best for her life. Sure, she said nice things about the show first, but in conclusion, she is ready to move on. Agree to disagree. That is what she said though. She has been done for awhile. This comes as no surprise to anyone, just like Bobby wanting off the show should come as no surprise to anyone.
Robert, Jennifer, and Ginny have all had problems with the show for years, but they had a contract.
January 12, 2017 at 5:26 pm #332588hjbauParticipantI think that Regina is the best bet as a character to keep around, but really they could get rid of any of them at this point. The entire show has been on repeat for a long time now, so they can do whatever, in my opinion.
It might all be outside of any sense of story logic anyways because if an actor wants out then the show just has to write around it.
January 12, 2017 at 5:45 pm #332591RainbowParticipantSorry to the fans, please don’t hate me, but based on the TCA’s almost spoilers for a S7, and here comes my request to the fans of the characters I will mention.
1st- Zelena, leaving by death, or going to EF or Oz would not need a revamp or sending the show in a new direction.
2nd- Henry leaving, not by dead but by deaged, would be weird and maybe a bit surprising, but would not change much the essence of the show and would not set a new direction, just a new family picture.
3rd- belle leaving at this point, would be bold, HOWEVER, her story have been so detached from main storyline or from rest of characters, that she leaving by death or going to EF or NY, would not make a huge, revamp on the show, making it go on new direction, unless if she died at the hands of one of the heros and Rumple would go crazy.
4rd- hook, just like belle, would Be bold, but losing hook by death, really death or by sailing to the sunset( know won’t happen, but using this to explain myself), would change some characters, but Just like losing belle would not be revamp the show, unless in a really bold storyline they would make sq( not saying this to cause a ship war, simply stating, what would be bold and changing the show).
The only characters that would change the show direction, would be the BIG 5, Emma, Snow, David, Regina and Rumple, and from the words at TCA, seems may not be only one character having his or her story coming to a end, will be more, so yeah, the big 5 are the ones that will set the show in a new direction or revamp or whatever they call it.
"I offended you with my opinion? Ha, you should hear the ones I keep to myself".
