The moment OutlawQueen fans have been dreading will finally come in Sunday’s Once Upon a Time winter finale.
RelatedWith the Snow Queen (Elizabeth Mitchell) finally gone, it’s highly likely that Maid Marian (Christie Laing) is no longer frozen—which means Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) will be faced with a difficult decision. “He’s going to have to choose between Marian and Regina,” Lana Parrilla tells EW. “You’ll see who he chooses this Sunday, and then how does that impact Regina? Maybe she does get the love of her life; maybe she doesn’t.”
But romantic obstacles are far from the only ones Regina will face in the winter finale. Her former friend-turned-foe Maleficent (Kristin Bauer van Straten) is set to return, alongside two other villains: Cruella de Vil (Victoria Smurfit) and Ursula (Merrin Dungey). “They’re not very fond of her, nor she of them,” Parrilla says. “She has less of a history with Cruella and Ursula, and more of a history with Maleficent. There’s an episode where Regina and Maleficent, we go back into fairy tale land and we see how they met and how they became friends. It’s a beautiful episode.
“Ultimately, Regina doesn’t really want to deal with three new villains,” Parrilla continues. “Every villain that’s come to this town has caused so many problems. So this isn’t something she’s looking forward to. You’ll see how she ends up dealing with them throughout the back end of the season.”
With the arrival of the Queens of Darkness, Regina will be faced with deciding whether she falls on the side of good or evil. “She’s going to be tempted, I think, by the dark side, and yet staying on this path of goodness and trying to do the right thing that has come with so many rewards,” Parrilla says. “It’s going to be hard to let go of knowing that there’s so much that comes with being good: having Henry, having Robin Hood, keeping the peace amongst her and Emma, Snow and Charming. However, old habits die hard. She hasn’t been off the evil sauce for a long time, so she’s going to get pulled quite a bit into the dark side in this back end.”
That will be especially hard if Regina learns that Rumple (Robert Carlyle) is preparing to take Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Henry (Jared Gilmore) away from Storybrooke. “She doesn’t know anything about this,” Parrilla says. “She doesn’t know that Rumple has this plan under his sleeve to take her son away. However, if or when she finds out, it will not unfold prettily. She’s not going to let Rumple just take her son away.”
Once Upon a Time’s winter finale airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
[adrotate group="5"]December 12, 2014 at 4:51 pm #293020WickedRegalParticipantAlthough I could root for Regina to just go full out Evil Queen…storyline wise, it wouldn’t be okay with me. Because how far she’s come, it’s unnecessary for them to try to conflict her with being good and bad, they’ve done that already in S2, why do it again? And the character development we were shown with her, Snow, and David just laughing at themselves at how they acted is just too much for them to destroy now.
Regina’s come too far for them to really do this to her again, I’d much prefer it if she were the one pulling Maleficent to the side of good rather than the other way around.

Poor Regina. I think Robin is going to choose Marian. The main reason I think so is because it was hinted at when Ingrid said that even though magic can’t make you love someone, it can help you fall back in love with someone you loved before. So I have a feeling Regina may do the extremely sacrificial thing of magically erasing Robin’s memories of herself (with his permission) so that he’ll remember the tremendous love he shared with Marian before.

Yup. That’s what I think is going to happen.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 13, 2014 at 8:03 am #293069onceaholicParticipantWhen I heard Ingrid say this, I got this impression also.
I think Regina will be tempted to the dark side briefly but will ultimately choose to be a hero. She might do both and promise to find these villains their happy ending by searching for the ”author” of the book.
