The fact that they are announcing this now makes me think that 516 must be Hades centric.
Nah, 516 is clearly Zelena/Dorothy centric, according to that recent casting announcement. I think Natalie was getting basic scoop about 5B, likely during the same time she did the Hot Seat that has yet to be posted, and Hades came up.
Hades could be connected to Zelena. I mean……why not?

Well… there you go. theres the connection, if they are. Hades was tight with the fates. Rumpel was raised by the fates. And also there is a story called the three spinsters (I think) and it appears in the collection of Grimm fairytale book that I have and its basically the story of rumpelstiltskin but with three spinners. And it appears like right before the story of Rumpelstiltskin so…. yeah….

I’m thinking Hades could have been a fourth party in a missing piece of the Cora/Rumple/Regina story, though this mainly hinges on the baseless assumption that they always planned on bringing Barbara Hershey back in the Underworld, seeing as how Cora/Kore is another name for Persephone.
I’m rewatching the show over winter break to lead up to the spring premiere, and I’m on the early episodes of season 2 now; though it could just be chalked up to shoddy writing or changes in plans, there’s a whole lot of dialogue in the first part of S2 that alludes to different Cora/Rumple events transpiring that what we ultimately saw in “The Miller’s Daughter.” Rumple implies having held Regina when she was smaller, “more portable” (implying transportation/kidnapping), and that they’re “back where we belong – together.” Later, in 2×08 when Regina and Rumple discuss Cora in Granny’s, Rumple insists he “can handle Cora” and that he “won in the end,” with Regina replying that that isn’t how Cora tells the story. Obviously we’ve had plenty of cases of inconsistent writing over the past five seasons where this could (and most likely will) amount to nothing, but Barbara Hershey’s trailer was seen back for 5×14 “Devil’s Due” as well, wasn’t it? The same episode Milah is also back for/most likely a Rumple episode?
I’m probably wildly off base, but in my wildest dreams the flashbacks for 5×14 will be Rumple abducting baby/toddler Regina and Cora making a deal with Hades (another one of the “deals she had to make,” plural, to get to where she was in 1×18) to get her back – though, of course, a wrench gets jammed in that when you’re forced to ask when in Regina’s life Rose McGowan evolved into Barbara Hershey, but…

If Hades is set to make his appearance right away in the season 5b mid season premiere, why have no photos surfaced of him on set in costume? Or did I miss something?

He probably filmed in the studio /stafe/green screw room. We usually only get pics of them filming outside where people can see. None of the cast uploaded pics of him and they’ll probably release official promo pics later.

This is a good theory….it’d definetly explain how Cora got the position as Mayor of the Underworld if her and Hades were already close friends/perhaps lovers. Boy, Cora sure did get around didn’t she.

Is a good theory, but A&E already said that they will do their own twist, and will not be following much myth( like we saw by the UW that is not really UW, i also see Hades being a sort of Mr. Gold of UW even with same types of clothes, and i think disney connection is the Hercules and meg that wont stay long). I actually see more Cruella trying to get Hades as a “friend” especially if it gives her chance to kill someone and she is the one that will be seen in more episodes, but i dont think she will be Hades wife, in fact i think ouat version of wont have a Persephone version and sad thing the great theories that fans have will be just that theories, Hades will be just like Merida, a side character while other characters related to the regular cast will come and go and wont be seen much, but will be only mentioned by the other dead characters of how bad he is.
I think their jobs( Cora and Pan) are connected to their children jobs in SB, just like Pan has Rumple pawn shop.
Also there is no reports of Barbara filming since 512 just like Robbie and they say in the article that is connected to one character, which i think they mean one of regular ones and since Rumple was the one that died already, so i see him being “the character” and something tells me that conection will be shown in episode that will have milah, i have some idea that their connection may be even before Milah left Rumple and will connect to Bae, im getting the vibe they will say Bae was always meant to die early, bc somehow he may have been sick almost dying as a kid and somehow Rumple and Milah made a deal with hades to save Bae, reason why there some fbs scene with them, young Bae and some character called Frendake the Healer, that would show that somehow hades ended calling for Bae soul and he was never meant to have a long life and why Neal is not on UW bc Hades made him move on or some other weird explanation, i know is a crack theory, but we all know when comes to Neal ( not trying to bring any type of ships wars or discussion about him) they always end making some weird explanations that make no sense, like the one “he died in real world” and bla, bla, bla. So yeah, i sense Rumple and Hades connection being explained in 514. In second option to this connection will be Hook and his ring, how he made a deal with hades in order to survive long to have a chance to kill Rumple.

It would be nice if the writers would tie Hades back into the story we’ve seen thus far, but it’s not really how they roll. They’ll connect Hades to one of our characters but via some new adventure/plot we haven’t seen before, not by going back to a previous flashback and fleshing it out.

I like it. I think the connection is mainly with Cora as well because A and E wouldn’t pass by the Kore name for Persephone without doing something with it.

Which is really the final point here. Like I said to Watcher, if the connection is with anyone it most likely will be some new story we haven’t seen yet instead of fleshing out an old flashback because that’s how A and E tell stories.

If we are correct that the “Red room” is connected to the underworld, perhaps someone actually met the guy and kept hush hush about it. They were all under the sleeping curse and that fiery room can be described as hellish.
