Do you have any details on Regina’s new love interest on Once Upon a Time? — Sarah
Just that we’re going to find out who the love interest is relatively soon — once the show returns, that is. And, as recently revealed in The Hot Seat, it is someone that we’ve already met on the show. “Roni, we’ll find out, has a past with someone that is complicated,” EP Edward Kitsis teases. Adds EP Adam Horowitz: “It’s hard to tease because the audience will react the way they react. We’re excited about the chemistry we’ve seen and the storytelling that grows out of this relationship we’re going to start to explore in the second half. "He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"I don’t know why they keep trying so hard to shoehorn in a love interest for Regina. Her character never IMO needed a boyfriend to be interesting or to find happiness. To me Regina’s journey should’ve been the long and arduous journey from villain to hero. From caring only about herself to caring about other people more than herself all while regretting and trying to make amends for her past actions. If she found a man (who wasn’t already canonically taken) along the way..great! But it’s been frustrating that like Emma, they’ve made so much of Regina’s story center on finding a man.
I’d rather they leave Regina’s love life to the wonders of the viewers….because this whole Facilier thing just seems mighty rushed and Lana’s like 8 years older than the actor, and I don’t know. Wouldn’t it just be easier to just somehow bring back Noah Bean so he can play Daniel for like three episodes and establish him as Regina’s happy ending. Surely, there’s another version of Daniel somewhere, possibly in a world where Regina was the one who died and Daniel’s been miserable ever since, so we have Original Loveless Regina fall in love with Alternate Loveless Daniel. The history’s all ready there, and they’ve been true love, and her story started with Daniel’s Death, so it should technically end with her reuniting with him. And with her son Henry, daughter in law, granddaughter, and true love Daniel, we’ll finally have a real happy ending for Regina.
