Hook put that engagement ring to good use during Sunday’s episode of Once Upon a Time — but probably not in the way he would’ve liked.

Struggling with whether or not to reveal to Emma (Jennifer Morrison) that he long ago killed her grandfather, Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) looks poised to come clean. Then he ends up proposing to her instead. “She puts him in a terrible position,” Morrison tells EW. “He’s coming in trying to figure out how to tell her. She’s found the ring and is on a whole different track, and then puts him in a position where he feels like he has to propose in that moment because of the circumstances.”

“He should just say, ‘Hold on a second. Before we do this, I should let you know that this is the case,’

Yes. That’s actually exactly what should have happened.

Emma is more important to Hook than anything else. So….yeah, I’m sure hes in no rush to ruin the mood by telling her he killed her grandpop.

Has he even said anything about telling Charming he killed his father? It seems hes only interested in how its gonna effect him and Emma’s relationship.  Emma doesn’t even know the guy who was killed. It Charming’s dad. I’d be much more pressed about Charming’s feelings.

Especially if he and Charming consider each other friends.

I feel I could have so much more respect for Hook but…..nope.

I feel like this is setting him up to redeem himself by finding a way to solve the curse upon Snowing.

Oh man……that would make a lot of sense.  I really want this now.

She puts him in a terrible position? What a ridiculous thing for JMo to say about what happened. Hook killed Charming’s father. Hook is only worried about how this effects his relationship with Emma. He doesn’t even mention what this might mean to Charming. Then it is somehow Emma who has done something wrong because she found the ring and put him in terrible position where he feels like he has to propose. Give me a break.

He should have just told her anyway. Now it is only worse. Though, i expect nothing more from these insane characters. I really thought that wasn’t Emma while i was watching the scene. Her behavior was so out of character in that scene, last week too. Like who is this character because it is not Emma?

Emma hasn’t been Emma since pretty much season 4.

What on Earth! She is essentially saying that it’s Emma’s fault that Hook didn’t own up to his past and do the ethical thing. “Because she put him in a terrible position.” So what, she had it coming? I sometimes get the distinct impression that JMo’s interviews are completely ghostwritten for her, or that she is being serious gaslighted by the show runners.

I think she just doesn’t care and doesn’t want angry KillEmma shippers coming at her.
