British actor Liam Garrigan will portray King Arthur, EW has learned exclusively. Garrigan, whose credits include 24: Live Another Day, Strike Back and the Starz miniseries The Pillars of the Earth, will first appear in the season premiere and will recur.

He does a bit. Unless Arthur is the result of Hook having a one night stand with Arthur’s mother, there’s no way Hook and Arthur could be related because of time line issues. Lancelot was around when Snowing were whereas Hook is centuries old but there is a resemblance between the actors.

I mean you say that like the writers couldn’t easily get around that with a wave of their hand. Suddenly Camelot is frozen in time and Arthur never ages but sent his young sons Killian and Liam off to live in a land with time! (see, problem solved)
Just something to keep in mind…they cast someone who looks quite a bit like one of our regulars. And this is a show that insists every season that everyone is tied together in some way..most often through family. The bigger issue is that they are casting a Latina Guinevere but that’s easily gotten around because in classic Arthurian mythos, Arthur and Guinevere are often childless and Arthur’s child(ren) come from Morgan.

The resemblance is impressive….and if Hook isn’t Arthur’s child, which is a good theory….whose to say Arthur isn’t Hook’s kid? If the latter, it is quite sure to stir quite a rouse in the fandom (Blind Item), particularly CaptainSwan because of their want for Emma to be the first to bare Killian’s children, and to learn that another child is already out there. Not to mention, Hook does have a history of one night stands, but I’m 99.9% sure even Adam and Eddy would NOT go there.

Oh I’m 100% certain they wouldn’t make Arthur Hook’s kid. But the other way around….I wouldn’t put past them. They have said that they intend to return to Hook’s past someday.

If they wanna make them related, I’d rather they just make Hook his great great grandad or something, he had a one night stand with a barmaid a couple centuries ago, and a few generations later, Arthur’s his descendant.
Though I confess it hadn’t even occurred to me that he looked at all like Colin until I saw other people mentioning it. My first thought was that I remembered him from 24, and wondered if he’ll be playing similar traits again as Arthur, (he was a terrorist in 24, brainwashed into being bad by his psycho mother, he wasn’t quite as blindly committed to the cause as she was, but he wasn’t strong willed enough to really stand up to her).
