Is there anything Adam Horowitz can tell us about Rumbelle during season 6 of Once Upon a Time? — rumbelletrueluv
What if I let Emilie de Ravin tell you about Belle getting out of the box? “The way she is extracted, how it happens and the characters that are involved is really cool, and it reveals a lot about her relationship and her past/future,” de Ravin says, noting that the show will explore more of Belle’s independence this season. “It’s been a long time coming. Now that she’s pregnant, and now that she knows that it’s not really just about her anymore, she has to take responsibility for this other little person. That’s making her head spin a little bit with regard to, ‘Okay, I can spend my life trying to fix this person, whether it’s for me or for him, but if it’s affecting someone else now, it’s a game changer.’ It puts a little bit of spanner in the works for their marriage for a bit. There’s some alone time to be had.”Source: http://www.ew.com/article/2016/07/29/spoiler-room-flash-once-upon-time-elementary

Also RumBelle is doomed to end tragically anyway. Either:
1. Rumple, as the dark one, will outlive Belle as she ages and dies whilst he stays the same.
2. Rumple gives up being the dark one, becomes mortal, but dies before Belle because of the age gap.
3. Rumple gives up being the dark one but crumples to dust as time catches up with him since he’s over 100.The only way it wouldn’t end tragically is if Rumple waited until Belle was physically his age then give up being the dark one so he could live the remaining years with her where they’re both around the same age.
Basically RumBelle have a 1 in 4 chance of a happy ending so why can’t A&E give them some happy time whilst they are alive together?

Because RumBelle serves the narrative function of being the foil to all the other “happy” couples and Rumple serves the narrative function of being the stand-in villain until something bigger and badder comes along. Rumbelle is the token dysfunctional “don’t do this at home” pairing. Also, they need to be broken up for the redemption via offspring trope they might try to do relative to Rump. Whether that will work out for him, I’m not so sure — even in the best case scenario, on OUAT a character who has a child and wants to do right by him/her can be quickly kicked to the curb in some gruesome, absurd way in order to then give said child to another, morally objectionable character, as a way of humanizing them.
I think RumBelle is bound for bad news either way — I suspect they’ll have Rumple die in some self-sacrificial manner yet again, especially if it’s true that Bobby wants off the show after s6

Absolutely.
