Perhaps he’ll be part of Regina’s dream world?
I was thinking a ghost who keeps following Regina around–telling her to move on and let go and Hope (or something). I don’t know. If he’s really not coming back to life then a multi-episode arc is just plain strange.
The source doesn’t actually say he’s returning as Robin Hood. I suppose it’s a stretch to hope for Kröd Mändoon, but until I see otherwise…
(Okay, if this double-posts, it’s because I got “ERROR: Are you sure you wanted to do that?” the first time.)

I can’t believe they are doing this. I have never liked Robin as a character. He is boring. But really what is the point. He isn’t going to come back to life. They should have just left it with Regina thinking he was in a better place. There is nothing they could do that would be interesting or add anything to Regina’s story.

Something like a “Truly Madly Deeply” sort of thing?

Saw OUAFPodcast post this theory. As crazy as this may sound, I could honestly see it happening:
You heard it here first! Per @samsjag: what if Robin Hood returns as the Magic Mirror? #OnceUponATime @OnceUponAFan @sean_m_maguire #theory

I guess Robin could still technically be “dead”, but his soul can communicate to Regina via her mirror. Not sure how this would play out, but the idea of Robin returning in a recurring capacity is strange in itself. It would explain why 608 is called “I’ll Be Your Mirror”, which happens to be the episode that they’re currently filming. Normally when casting announcements are made, they’re in relation to the filming schedule.

Haven’t they essentially posited that afterlife is another realm, but with a massively hostile visa regime?
Oh Matt, that makes so much sense. That has to be it!

Oh dear, that does make too much sense. This show is such a mess.
When I first saw this news, I joked that the god zapping crystal had turned Robin into a god, and he’d come back as Apollo or something (or maybe Cupid, just, some god that fires arrows). And I wouldn’t have even joked about it if we hadn’t just had Morfetus. But yeah, that thing about him being the Mirror sounds about right.
I saw a lot of excited OQ shippers on Twitter immediately after the news broke, and I fear that they’re gonna come crashing down when Robin’s return isn’t really what they were hoping for. (Though considering how A&E have caved to the fans already, it wouldn’t surprise me if they end up finding a way to bring him back permanently after such a huge reaction to him coming back. It’s probably been a while since there’s been so much positivity in Adam’s @ replies.)
