Any new faces coming to Once Upon a Time? — lilslim
Yes, and the newbie has a connection to Henry. “We’re going to meet Henry’s very first crush,” says EP Edward Kitsis. Since Kitsis also notes that Camelot is a place of love, I’m guessing his crush will hail from there, but TPTB are keeping tight-lipped. “It’s a character that we’re going to meet and we want it to be a surprise,” adds EP Adam Horowitz. “It’s fun to give Henry something new to play and deal with, and to really explore Henry as a boy who’s growing up and all the joy and pain of adolescence.”

(deadpan) Gee. I wonder who it could possibly be.

I sincerely hope that this is just a passing crush and Henry’s not about to met his true love. He doesn’t even have a friend his own age–boy or girl! And while I recognize that this show is obsessed with the romantic love, there are actually other kinds and it would be nice if Henry could have a *friend* before we start paring him off.

I just….. Don’t trust her…… And what are they keeping secret? If she’s an original character they could already tell us she’s from Camelot or her name or whatever.

Merida has three bros right? That would have been cool. Henry getting into trouble with the Brave Bros.

I don’t really know the direction they will take this, but if I had to wager…this Violet may end up being Henry’s True Love. Emma was what, 18, when she met and fell for Neal….Henry should be pushing 13….Violet being a crush scenario would work best, but I think Adam and Eddy think they’ve played the “crush” trope enough with Gretel and Grace…..Violet may end up being more serious.

I disagree. It’s too soon for Henry to have “true love”, he’s only 13/14, kids that age have no clue about real love. They’re all a bunch of raging hormones. I could see Henry thinking he’s found his true love because he’s crushing on this girl so hard but to make her actually his true love when she is the first person his own age that Henry has had a proper conversation with just seems a little….fast.

I agree with RG, it would be better for Henry to develop an actual friendship with someone his own age before they start throwing him into the world of romance.

Seeing as this is a show that really deconstructs fairytales. I think the best way to handle it would be to actually have Henry think he is in love with her, the classic love at first sight thing very prominent in fairytales, and then completely turn it upside down and show why such a thing is crazy and absurd.

    Frozen did it.

It wasn’t even really a crush with those two, though. Gretel we met once; Grace we saw Henry speak with her in passing. Nothing to indicate that  a young boy had a crush on them–they weren’t even really his friends, more acquaintances.

Frankly true love at the age of 13 is *beyond* ridiculous and makes it seem like they have no plans for Henry so they are giving him a love interest because that’s what they do when they can’t think of any other plot line.

I think the Author was the only real plan they had for Henry….to be honest, I’d much rather see Henry tap into some of that SwanMills Magic and get trained by either his mothers or Rumplestilskin before he gets any real love.

I think Violet will be Henry’s first relationship, but not true love. Why? Because Violet is a Camelot character, so chances are she could be gone by the time the Camelot arc wraps up.

That is the strongest possibility at the moment….though I would love a scene where Regina is spying on her son with his crush.
