The way he acted with Emma in the scene right after he’d had his heart removed, it seemed to me he was trying to over compensate to try and cover up the lack of heart. So reading what they say about how nothing’s changed, it just doesn’t jive with that IMO, (on top of how inconsistent it is with previously established missing heart lore).

 

I must agree with you completely on this. Hook definitely was over compensating to the extent that Emma had to remind him that she’s ok. I am very curious how this plays out but don’t see why Hook wouldn’t just come clean like he did when he was leaving Emma the message.

While Rump holds the heart, Hook is under his command. I’m sure Rump is controlling Hook to not be able to tell anything about what happened or tell that his heart is missing.

What magical “beings” are in SB? Dwarves? Fairies? I assume by beings they mean other than magic users. The only other magic user I can think of in SB besides Emma is Elsa and Regina and I’m sure neither of them are going anywhere…. Hmmm….. Curious.

Maybe it depends on the situation right before one’s heart is removed. May also depend if removing one’s heart was done willingly or by force. For Cora I wonder if she meant that she couldn’t fully love her daughter. She loved Regina just not unconditionally. Cora hadn’t had Regina yet when she removed her own heart so she didn’t know what it was like to love Regina with her heart. For Graham, he had the effects of the dark curse, plus his false memories, and his situation right before Regina took his heart wasn’t great. He was a bit numb to start off with towards humans. It made him a great huntsman, For Regina, she had feelings for Robin, just wouldn’t admit them before she removed her own, plus Regina’s soul was brought up a bit & it was self inflicted. For Will, he wanted to be numb to remove the heartbreak, so maybe the way Cora removed it allowed Will to become numb, like Regina wanted to be in EF during the missing year.

I agree that Hook was over compensating. He knows what it feels like to love Emma & wants to desperately keep & embrace those feelings vs becoming numb, plus he has to hide the fact he now doesn’t have a heart. Emma is in his head as well as his heart.
