I need something on Robin and Regina before Once Upon a Time’s return. — Max
When the show returns, Regina and Robin haven’t spoken since he left town. Suffice it to say, the Queens of Darkness coming to Storybrooke will test Regina’s resolve. “Regina has really shown a lot of decline this year by not killing Marian and doing the right thing,” executive producer Edward Kitsis says. “There’s a lot of her that feels like, ‘Why am I continually doing good things when I’m not getting good results?’ As far as Regina and Robin Hood goes, that and what happens is one of our favorite parts of the second half.”

Really? How has Regina declined? If anything she’s improved or are we to take “not killing Marian and doing the right thing” as not a good thing? Was Regina supposed to be wrong in NOT killing Marian again? Was killing Marian meant to be “the right thing”? That sentence is badly worded. How has Regina shown “a lot of decline”?

TVLINE | It really is, because Regina and Robin had to pursue this romance while Marian was frozen for a bit there – and some viewers took issue with that.

    LANA PARRILLA:
Yeah, but I think what a lot of people unfortunately had missed — because they called it adultery and all these things — was it’s really hard to look at that relationship and compare it real life, because it doesn’t work that way. First of all, someone doesn’t die and then come back 30 years later. The only example I can give is the movie Castaway, where Tom Hanks gets stranded, or, you know, a prisoner of war. Someone is pronounced dead because you haven’t heard from them and the wives think, “I guess my husband is gone, and I need to move on in my life.” That’s exactly what this was with Robin Hood. His wife had died 30 years ago, and he moved on, and the fact that she came back… is not a natural thing that would happen in our lives. It’s called “a television show,” and it’s a fantastical television show at that, and it all happened through magic.

I was confused by that phrasing too. Like I thought we were supposed to seeing Regina evolve? Again in a different interview, Lana justified, well, if it’s killing for the greater good, that’s okay. Is Regina bad now or is she teetering on being evil but she’s good too?
