More Once Upon a Time scoop please! — Kate
As of now, we’ll be in one new story book when season 7 launches, but the OUAT bosses say they have the freedom to go through multiple books. And with multiple books comes multiple authors — that’s right, Henry’s not the only one! “There has to be one author for each book and I think that is the case,” EP Edward Kitsis says. But EP Adam Horowitz is quick to add: “Different books have different mythologies, so it’s not like we’re going to tell the Author mythology the same way, or the Dark One mythology the same way. There’s going to be new things and new mythology to explore.”

WHAT????? You think? aren`t you one of the showrunners and one of the writers?

    ehhhhhhhh…….

I mean…I guess? If it’s a whole new universe then yeah, sure, the rules are different but 1) that’s gonna be pretty messy and confusing especially if you’re a GA and 2) these writers were never all that great at keeping to rules and logical world-building in check in the first place so I’m not so sure I should put any trust in them when they’re gonna override a lot of their original material because of “different universe” reasons.

Yeah, I’m fine with new books with new universes with new rules, but I hope it’s completely different rather than just a twist on the Dark One mythology, Savior Mythology, etc. Let’s do something new. Also I’m a bit confused as to why there’s a different author for each book. Does each realm have a book? If so, why does the original feature the EF, Wonderland, Oz, the Underworld, etc and why did Isaac travel realms? It’s…..weird.

It helps to just think of this an a brand new seperate show.

I think the only way I’m able to rationalize this–and it’s admittedly sloppy–is that all the realms we saw in the first six years were in one universe. UniverseA, if you will. Now all the realms we are going to see are from UniverseB (but this doesn’t explain how books from UniverseB wound up in the Sorcerer’s House in UniverseA). But in short, each realm doesn’t have a book/Author but each universe does.

It helps to just think of this an a brand new seperate show.

But yes, this is actually the real answer.

Yeah, i am definitely just thinking of it as a new show now. This is Ouat 2 and regular Ouat is over now. There seems to be no real connection anyways.

Hands down, the best thing to do at this point.

More than one author? It feels like we’ve heard and seen this plot before like in season four when Henry met Issac.

It seriously seems like they think they are doing something exciting and new and they are just doing the same thing they have done before. Multiple author, multiple realms, Cinderella 2, an Evil stepmother, a curse, Henry separated from his family, and memory problems. It just all feels the same.
