Anyway, I suspect that Rumple will end up poorly, however the season renewal gets sliced, because if trickery is irredeemably evil, and a trickster can’t change his stripes, then this is going to be another retribution narrative. *sigh* Either way, I still mourn the loss of a really interesting character.

I also think Rumple is destined to die, no matter what. Whether he redeems himself (again) like he did in Going Home by sacrificing himself for Belle and/or his child or goes out in an evil blaze of glory, I think Bobby Carlyle is officially done with OUAT after season 6, even if the show survives for another season. While I will always mourn the loss of Rumple’s original character from seasons 1-3a, I won’t really miss this resurrected, altered black-hatted villain alter ego who lost the little thing that kept him human when Baelfire died. I wish Bobby Carlyle good fortune away from the shambles that has become this character and show that I originally loved but now no longer care for much. In conclusion, I think Rumple is the major death we can expect for season 6, but not until the end of the season.

The only major character I think does not fall under the 100%-no-way-they-will-die category is Rumple and that depends on a few factors, the biggest being if there’s a S7 or not.

If there’s a S7, I think Rumple is more likely than others die (sacrificing his life for Belle/new kid)

If there’s NOT a S7, then I think Rumple is far more likely to live, having given up all the darkness once and for all.

I think a third option, depending on if there’s a Season 7 and Bobby wants to leave, is that Rumple and Belle decide to leave Storybrooke together and raise their new baby. I believe that’s been suggested before. As far as the writers are concerned, the bulk of Belle’s story revolves around Rumple, so what would be the point of keeping Belle on the show without Rumple? I also think that the writers do want to ultimately give Rumple some sort of happy ending. They just don’t want that to happen until either the end of the series or when Bobby wants to leave. They don’t find morally good Rumple interesting enough to write for in the long term. Hence why they just had to make him the Dark One again at the end of 5A. In short, the writers want to have their cake and eat it too.

As far as i am concerned this show has never killed a main character. The huntsman was hired on with the intention of killing him off at episode seven. He was not a regular according to the press releases. Robin while he was a regular, was barely in episodes. Most of the time when he was, he would just stand around. His death will not effect the show at all. Even Regina, in my opinion, who is supposedly his true love. Baelfire is obviously the most main character because his story is so connected and has been part of the show since the beginning, but even he didn’t appear as Neal til Season 2 and was never given a lot of focus either.

If they kill Emma, Snow, Regina, or Rumpel then it might matter. The rest can go and it won’t matter.
