If I were Colin O’Donoghue, and I came here and saw how somebody talks about a character I’ve worked so hard to make real for so many people, I think I’d feel demoralized after reading what some of the people here have to say about Hook. It goes beyond the point of being anything constructively debatable, just hostile. More than that, the amount of attacks I see here on Captain Hook are really constant. Some of the posts make it sound like he’s everything short of being compared to satan himself. With a topic called “Eww Captain Swan Shippers”, what do you think that says to fans of Captain Hook? If it was “Eww Captain Swan”, that’d be different, but the topic attacks the shippers, not the characters. There’s too much negativity about Captain Hook, and too little posts that just talk about him. I’m not saying everyone has to like him, but if you don’t, then why attack him? I’d like to see more open minds, and positive comments here. I think that would feel like a breath of fresh air to me.

Exactly. When I first saw the name of this topic I was pretty offended, and I wanted to say something but I didn’t see the point because people will come up with some ‘excuse’ for it anyway.

Gypsy- I couldn’t agree with you more. It is ok for you to dislike a character, we all have our own opinions. I just don’t think it’s ok for people to, let’s say, attack a character when they know there are fans of that character on this site. If they were more considerate about it, then I wouldn’t care., but it’s just the way they go about it is what I disagree with.
For example, I don’t particularly like Neal. I could easily make a new topic just so I can tell everyone just how much I hate him and all the bad qualities about him. I’m sure that wouldn’t go down well with the Neal fans. Do you see where I’m going with this?
All I want is for people to be civil and tell each other their opinions, whilst taking into account that some fans may be offended or upset. It’s not that hard to do.

Like Phee said, maybe if it were in just a few threads, ppl wouldn’t complain.

The amount of Hook threads is overwhelming…..if I were Colin and came here and saw all of them, I’d feel honored.

I didn’t say I didn’t like the actor, I don’t like his character and yes, I think a romantic relationship between Emma and Hook is a bit creepy, given their respective relationships with a mother and son (providing Neal actually is Bae, which it seems safe to say, he is).

There are multiple threads devoted to Hook, and what, one against him – but that’s not allowed?
    Seriously?

Well with what I saw on twitter this morning, this whole subject might be useless before long. Colin O’Donoghue might be really sick and if he is, we’re probably going to be loosing Hook anyway, and this won’t even matter anymore.

If I were Colin and I saw heated passionate debates about my character I would know I was doing a good job. That’s the whole point of his character….he’s the bad boy people love to hate or want to save.

That being said, it’s easy to find lots of love for Hook everywhere. He’s kinda taking over most boards and forums with his fangirls. This is all a two way street. If you see negative threads about him…ignore them. When I see positive boards about him, I ignore them. There will always be people who disagree with you and if it’s ruining the experience for you then avoid it. It’s just a tv show….not the end of the world.

You are completly missing the point or your just avoiding it. There’s no point.
Look we all have one thing in common at least, we enjoy the show. Let’s leave it at that

I’ll give you that. I think that’s true. It’s just hard to avoid the negativity when you see so much of it, and when you feel chastised for talking about a character too much.

Here’s all I’m asking for: We all have a redeeming quality in us, and nobody is perfect in fiction, or in reality. If we all had an open mind, an open heart, and would “live and let live”, this will be a nicer place to be, if people will think before they post about how what they do might make somebody else feel.

I started off a little disappointed with Hook’s introduction but the more I saw of him on the show the cooler the character got for me. Then to see the dynamic he and Emma had I loved the idea of this ship. It’s really fun to me to see Emma annoyed yet intrigued by Hook and see Hook never miss an opportunity to flirt with Emma. Hook would have to have some kind of redemption for there to be an actual relationship with Emma. Things wold certainly get interesting if that would happen and Neal comes back leaving Emma stuck in the middle.

Yeah I saw a post about it on the abc.com forums…I wouldn’t put much stock in it unless it’s from the horse’s mouth. I know some people have gotten upset that he hasn’t been posting on twitter much recently…I always take it as a good sign when some of the actors aren’t posting…it probably means they’re working…or at least that’s the way I like to see it.

Colin O’Donoghue is also scheduled to be at Paleyfest so I don’t think Hook is going anywhere.

Hook went after Belle because she is where Rumple kept his heart, what’s he going to do to Bae (assuming Bae is Neal) because not only is Bae Rumple’s son, he is also a potential rival for Emma’s affections.

All magic comes with a price!
