I was helping my friends pack stuff to move yesterday and towards the end of the evening, one of them brought up Faeire Tale Theatre. I mentioned that I remember seeing a live-action Sleeping Beauty when I was younger and being really scared of the witch. (That 1987’s Sleeping Beauty, fyi and Morgan Fairchild was the witch.).

But anyway back to Faeire Tale Theatre. It ran for 6 seasons and featured a lot of actors we would recognize today. Like Peewee Herman was Pinnochio, Liza Minneli, Carrie Fisher was in an episode, Matthew Broderick (Bueller?). I just googled it and all episodes are on hulu.

    Full list of episodes..

Episodes relating to OUAT (stories we’ve seen already).
    1st season:

    Episode 2 : Rumpelstiltskin

    2nd season:
    Episode 5: Sleeping Beaty
Episode 6: Jack and the Beanstalk
Episode 7: Little Red Riding Hood
    Episode 8: Hansel and Gretel

    3rd season:
    Episode 11: Pinnochio
Episode 13: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Episode 14: Beauty and the Beast

    Season 4
    Episode 20: Cinderella

    Just thought I’d share.

It was a great series–my parents had taped most of the episodes so I knew several of them by heart as a kid. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for some fun watching to pass the time between Once eps.

Keeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. I watched Rumpelstiltskin and am currently watching Sleeping Beauty. The bad fairy turns into a green snake lady, with long nails like Freddy Krueger. I kind of remember that as a kid, but really, not so scary anymore. 😆 There were moments in the episode where it was somewhat pornographic though, but very 😆 😆 moments. Everything is so cheesy.

Yes, I remember this show! It was probably my first introduction to many of the classic fairytales- or at least the ones not done yet by Disney at the time. It’s been years since I’ve seen them, but I do remember Robin Williams as The Frog Prince.

The late Christopher Reeve was the prince in Sleeping Beauty. I checked IMDB and he did that between Superman III and IV: The Quest for Peace. And Vincent Price was the magic mirror in Snow White.
