    The Blue Fairy tells Nova:
“Fairy dust is the most precious substance in all the land. It’s magic is what powers the world.”

That is one hell of a statement! I admit that I don’t know what to do with it yet, but it sounds as if it could be of some importance. We already saw that it gave Dreamy the ability to love and want things for himself (it did sprinkle on him after all), so it is very powerful.

    Any thoughts?

    Thoughts about fairy dust:

Rumplestiltskin was imprisoned in the mine where they got the diamonds for the fairy dust. I wonder if that is why his magic could be imprisoned there. I also wonder if there is some other source of the stuff since that no longer seemed to be a working mine.

We haven’t see fairy dust at work in any other episode, have we? Did the blue fairy use it before?

The fairy dust seemed to almost have a mind of its own. The bit that Nova spilled didn’t just float away. It had a trajectory.

Since magic is such a major part of the story here —- who has it, how you get it, whose is more powerful, what is the price of it, etc. —- it will be interesting to see where they take this.

@ weedith: We saw dust from an evil fairy in ep. 3 Snow Falls, when Snow White saved Prince James/Charming from trolls by turning them into insects. She had originally intended to use the fairy dust as a weapon against the EQ. In ep. 5, That Still Small Voice, we saw the Blue Fairy use her magic wand, which is probably powered by fairy dust (since it is what powers the world). In ep. 14, it does seem like the fairy dust deliberately landed on Dreamy’s unhatched egg (very weird episode). I think fairy dust is very powerful, although it’s still very hazy how exactly it powers the world. It also seems like fairies live in their own world.
