I had a pretty cool idea as to what the Wicked Witch’s true purpose might be amongst other things.

I was thinking that the next “big bad” will actually be a series of villains that are part of some sort of Fairytale Illuminati; which started off with good inentions(possibly founded by the Blue Fairy) but then went bad. The Wizard of Oz is one of the leading figures of it, and tries to get The Wicked Witch to join, but she finds out what’s really happening and rebels against him(sort of mirroring the plot of wicked, but different). The Illuminati is made up of members like Oz, true Ursula, the Black Fairy(possibly Maleficent), the Queen of Hearts(in the past), possibly other Disney villains like Dr. Facilier, Cruella Deville(A wealthy benefactor). We discover that at points in the past, they tried to Recruit Regina and Rumple but they refused.

The curse was originally created by Oz(Tornado-like, and green the second time it was cast, with intents closer to the original) and “acquired” by Rumple at some point. It was originally intended to transport armies of sleeper agents in order to take over the Land Without Magic. Some agents like the dragon dude from Season 2 were already placed there.

Pan’s shadow was originally a magical experiment. Because of the connection to Pixie Dust – possibly a byproduct of the Dark Fairy and related to the reason why Blue doesn’t allow Fairies to love.

Ursula gives the merfolk legs but also bestows on them another power – the power to swim between realms. Note that the mermaids we first meet are hostile as well.

Basically the Illuminati have been researching ways of crossing realms and preparing for centuries a mass scale invasion.

I think the WWW and Regina goes a way back, Regina did what she usually does to people, and the WWW is convinced she and the others are working for Oz which is why she attacks them(also she’s crazy).

I also think Rumplestiltskin was amassing various magical items to become a rival to Oz/the Illuminati.

What do people think? Could there be a Storybook illuminati/Legion of Doom plotting a bunch of stuff in the background, who are responsible for much of the show’s mysteries? If not, where is Once going to go after Season 3?

Oh Oh Oh! And this can bring us two more unsolved mysteries.

dr. Whale may not (and probably isn’t) the wizard of Oz but we do get to see his realm, when we meet the wizard. Also, speaking of frankenstein the wizard is why his world is dependent on science, and why it is black and white.

but perhaps not, perhaps Oz recruited Zoso (the dark one) to join his illuminati, and instead of capitualting that set zoso on the hunt for a desperate soul whom he knew would have good intentions despite bieng the dark one.

i dont know I just really like this theory especially because it can incorporate sneaky fairy without her having to be truly evil just lots of hidden intent.

Also, to add to Dr. Faciller’s part, in a concept it was supposed to be revealed that he is the son of Mama Odie which explains his magic. I would love for that to be picked up in Once. Ursula doesn’t seem to be evil in this version but we haven’t even seen her true form so *shrug* I like this theory
Personally, after season 3 i have no idea what direction Once will take. Sure, we have many villains left to explore but that may get old to some viewers. I have been thinking season 4 Once will be like season 6 of trueblood (or was that season 5?) Where the humans become a threat to the vampires and werewolves and what have you. I think eventually magic and fairy tales will be discovered by the humans and they will (with the power of SCIENCE) fight against the magical lands and its people. But that could be in the future.
This Disney Legion of Doom is just AWESOME!!! The aftermath of such a battle between the forces of good (our savior and her family) versus this collection of villains could be what tips the humans off to them…
