Hello everyone, I don’t know if anyone has posted this yet since I’m new, but did you ever realize that Rumpel’s father had left him, Rumpel abandoned his son, and Neal/Bae “left” Henry. Coincidence or family “curse”? What do you think?

I think family is the central theme of this show. It’s not a “curse” but rather the abandoned often abandon people, it’s all that they know.

Also, Eddy and Adam worked for 6 years on LOST where there were no shortages of daddy issues. They know how to write those.

Killian’s father also abandond him and he abandaned Bae in a way. In real life, many people from all walks of life deal with father abandanment so that theam really strikes a cord with the audience.

Eh, we don’t know for sure that Hook was abandoned by his father, he could’ve concocted that story to get Bae to spill the beans about Rumple and the way to kill him, especially given how similar it is to Rumple’s own. I’d wait for a Adam or Eddy confirmation or a Hook flashback before accepting that as the truth.

^Ditto. And even if Hook’s story is true, it may only be what he perceives to be true. The reality may be something different. I’d wait for an actual flashback before we take him at his word.

That’s very true. It wasn’t that long ago that Emma portrayed Henry’s father as this bastard that took advantage of her, after all. 🙂

I hope we get to meet Hook’s father as some point. but I don’t think he was lying to Bae about his dad.
