When coming to the forums … I always love this thread … What were your FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE MOMENTS from this episode 4X 07 SNOW QUEEN ???

I thought it had really weird and illogical character moments, some really terrible messages, and emotional moments for characters that I just don’t care about when all is said and done.
Oh. And a magically gender swapped baby
Right now, 5/10
LIKED
–Elizabeth Mitchell kills it every week. She is saving this storyline because otherwise…I’m not sure I would be enjoying anything. But she is really terrific.
–Henry and Regina were cute together
–Belle spoke!
MIXED LIKED AND DISLIKED
–Henry in Rumple’s shop: still sweeping, still not talking about Neal. But, at least Henry called him Grandpa.
DISLIKED
–Emma: just leave the room! This isn’t hard to puzzle out. I get that they need to make Emma’s magic go wonky but this is a seriously illogical way to do it! Just leave the room and stop listening to the Ice Queen
–Ice Queen freezes glass doors and no one thinks to just shatter them? Do you know what happens when glass freezes? You can BREAK IT!
–Outlaw Queen. Sorry. But, no I can’t support this. This is wrong. MM and David were married and under an evil curse and so their affair was a little more palatable, but this was just WRONG. Living by a code and then you decide to throw it all away? It’s called adultery and frankly they just ruined Robin Hood. At least Regina tried to stop it originally.
–The Duke. Ok. So that’s everyone from Frozen, right? We’ve seen them all. Enough. We get it. Frozen = Money.
–“If you love someone enough it’s worth ruining your life over” What a truly terrible terrible message. Love is grand but nobody and nothing is worth ruining your life, your self respect, your honor, and your code for.
–They have turned Snow White into a shrew. Her looks and “Emma!” were just so outside the box. Does anyone else remember when Snow accepted Emma’s Care Bear Stare to Cora with GRACE and DIGNITY?!
–Magical. Gender. Swapped. Baby. I really hope Adam and Eddy have some sort of explanation. I really do.
–I didn’t care one bit about the three sisters. I thought the back story was incredibly lackluster and frankly exactly what we all expected. Of course Ingrid killed her sister. But let’s throw in an attempt at unwanted sexual advances first?
–Rumple wants to take over the world!!!!!!!! Lol. Okay. Oh, by the way…he can leave SB. He’s been able to since S2.
–For the last and final time Regina: the book did not make you a villain. YOU DID.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 9, 2014 at 9:29 pm #289552WickedRegalParticipantThis episode was a 10/10.
Ingrid….my sympathy for her was in overload! I just….her story….too painful!
Snow and Charming…the two inconsiderate idiots….Ingrid was right about them. The moment Emma lost control, they looked at her as a monster…good thing they realized their mistake in the end. But c’mon….did they really think they were just going to lock up Ingrid so easily? And just trusting a bracelet to hold her powers? (Sigh)
Rumple…Rumple…Rumple….I don’t even know anymore. World domination now or what? Just….take Belle to Hawaii so you two can live happily ever after. Don’t try to take over the world please! Don’t throw anymore character development out the window!
And another thing…Adam and Eddy…before bringing back old characters, make sure you remember their stories! Cinderella had a girl…not a boy!
Last but not least…the best for last…OutlawQueen! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Will Scarlett for talking sense to Robin…I know many people hate that he followed his heart and chose Regina, but (waves hand) I’m sure you all will be on board around Season 5! We all knew it was going to happen anyway….it was inevitable! IT WAS FATE!
This Was Everything Tonight!

Likes:
–Henry called Rumple grandpa and wore a suit.
–Belle had more than one word in the episode.
–Rumple’s quest for world domination
Dislikes:
–Baby gender change….really, that’s just laziness
–The sister’s story that I had no interest in
–Outlaw Queen. I was once a big fan but it’s ruined now for me. I can never support it again.
Overall it wasn’t my favorite at all.

Belle’s outfit. (And Henry’s, actually.)
Belle & Henry both got lines. That made sense. Also, although I’m slightly annoyed they did it by proxy instead of showing her involvement, I love that Belle is finding and translating spells for Emma & Elsa.
Team Princess Baby was adorable and I liked how they tied it to the plot. I’m hoping to see more of Ella & Aurora in the future now. It just adds to the continuity when we see even glimpses of secondary characters’ lives.
Rumple & DQ’s creepiness. Through the roof awesome.
Somewhere in between:
Rumple’s statement about doing what Belle wants. On the one hand, you could sense the tension in how he said it that 406 has put on their marriage; it’s filled with beautiful irony and shows how Rumple’s lies are affecting him. And I liked that Hook picked up on that, extending that little narrative thread nicely. Also, I kinda enjoy the running gag of people rushing to Rumple whenever there’s an issue and him being so done with it. It’s annoying until it’s funny and now I just see it as funny (like the interrupted dates and Belle getting kidnapped, really). But of course as a Rumbelle shipper I’m also crying inside that this is going to hurt both of them SO bad.
Ingrid’s backstory. So glad we’ve finally got this, and honestly when I realized it was the Duke of Weselton I laughed so hard. I loved the little things they planted to tie into the Frozen movie–the gloves, Weselton’s reactions. I’m sad there doesn’t seem to be hope for Helga’s return, but then Gerda’s dead too, so…chalk up one more death on my spreadsheet, I guess. Still…I’m so done with the “well, this bit of story kinda seriously contradicts things we’ve set up/have to play with elsewhere, so let’s just remove everyone’s memory!” plot. It was lame when they did it with Regina in Save Henry and it’s lame now. Honestly, it almost adds more if Weselton and Gerda remember what happened. So why erase it all?
Emma’s retreat to the bug. It’s her ice castle. It’s home.
Dislikes:
Everything they did with Robin Hood. I was literally rolling my eyes when he went back to Regina. Seriously, dude? You’re choosing her over the woman who inspired your code (but oh, wait, you tell Regina you followed it every day except when you choose her? Yeah, there’s a line I want to hear from a guy). No. Just no. And he must have told that story an awful lot in the two days Will was in camp, or, once again, as with Alexandra, they don’t seem to care about their timeline at all.
Also, Will, where is Ana? (Not Anna, but Anastasia, okay? Elsa’s sister has two ns, Will’s true love has one.) WHAT DID YOU CHOOSE? WHY WHY WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE HER? If they had to kill off that beautiful relationship just to get Will, as much as I love him, onto Once, I will throw things, I swear.
The Alex/Alexandra thing: Alexandra should be around 18 months old. Possibly as few as 14 depending on the length of the missing “year.” She was born approximately 4 days after Emma’s birthday, give or take according to A&E’s complete disregard for anything other than the order of events in their timeline (I’m quite sure they don’t care one bit about the time between events at ALL even though they pepper clues all over.) Unless Alex is her little brother, something seems off. It would make sense for Ella to have another in that time span, though (Pan would call her fertile, no doubt)–and that would make her a good candidate to run the class. So, um, why not SAY as much?
Sorry. I’ve put so much effort into untangling their timeline and they obviously don’t care that much about it and it’s very frustrating for me. I do think they keep track of the order of events, though.
Anyway, yay for Belle time and Grandpastiltskin. More of this please.

November 9, 2014 at 9:54 pm #289556KebParticipantI’m still hoping that what Rumple wants “out there” is a way to bring back Nealfire. I’m sorry. The hope won’t die.

November 9, 2014 at 10:45 pm #289563PheeParticipantHighlight for me was them practically screaming “FAIL SAAAAFE” because LOST. And Rumple’s, “Pop the top and in you go,” gave me flashes of Juliet (EM’s character on LOST) being sucked down into that shaft to her doom, (which made me sad because that scene was traumatic, but I do appreciate the shoutout).
Worst part was the retconning. Ella’s kid isn’t old enough (did she ever refer to Alex as a “he”? The baby did look more like a boy than a girl though), and Will apparently hung out with Robin and Marian for a great length of time. Well alrighty then, who needs to stick to previously established canon facts?
Close runners up for worst part is what they’re doing to both Robin and Rumple.
November 9, 2014 at 11:51 pm #289571MyrilParticipantGender swapped baby? I didn’t see or hear anything that ultimately changed baby Alex’ gender. But might have missed a detail. Can someone please elaborate?
¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯
November 10, 2014 at 12:00 am #289574KebParticipantThey didn’t say one way or the other and it’s hard to tell at that age. But Baby Alex was also played by a child who appeared to be around 8 months old at most, while the timeline (even the bits that A&E will commit to) suggests that Alexandra should be about 14-18 months old. A child of that age is usually walking, looks like a toddler and not an infant, and is starting to say some coherent words. (I used to work in childcare, so…)

November 10, 2014 at 12:41 am #289583schaendlichParticipantFavorite:
– It’s like Ingrid is the mirror. She really knows how to play on people’s dark emotions. Just like the Belle scene, I found everything she said to have just the tiniest spot of truth. Quite hurtful, indeed and I like it.
– Rumpel’s “potion”. Henry really thought he was going to get somewhere, didn’t he?
– Reference to Mr. Gold wanting ice cream in season 1.
– Belle! I’m glad they didn’t forget you, Pumpkin.
– Aurora still exists.
Mixed:
– I’m glad Regina seemed to be preparing herself to move on. She even said “next time a happy ending comes…” That line alone was such a HUGE character leap for her in my eyes I nearly put it into my favorites…and then, there was that huge moment of weakness.
– Ingrid’s backstory is really tragic and pretty good. I just feel that something is missing…I don’t know what. Just something.
– I find Emma’s sudden power instability to the point of being dangerous to be a little contrived.
– I burn a little every time they call that baby Neal. It’s just kinda awkward for me, still.
– Glad we get to see a bit more of Cinderella, but her kid should be a girl, and not an infant by any means.
– Rumpel’s gonna what now? I may just be stupid, but I’ve never been so confused as to his motivations. If it’s world domination, why? If it’s infinite power, why now? If it’s a way out of Storybrooke, why does he need the hat? His character is regressing so much for seemingly no reason. If this was because he felt as if he had no purpose or good in him since allowing his past mistakes to end his son life, Id’ understand this more. It’d be like watching a man drive onto the tracks and headfirst into a train. Tragic, messy, but meaningful. However, they started this season with him still making promises to be a better man to Neal’s grave (albeit in the most shallow way possible). Also, I know he’s not exactly on good terms with everyone, but I hardly think he’d be okay with leaving them all to perish at the hands of the Snow Queen for *insert whatever reason*. Why is he so willing to do that now? The only reason this is not in dislikes is because I still feel lost…
Disliked:
– I cannot like OQ. No matter how things end up, this pairing is ruined for me forever. I had a paragraph here. Pretty big one, too. It explained all of my feelings, and why this pairing is in the gutter. However, there are only so many ways to say that this pairing will never work, even when it “does”. I’ve said them all. So, I’m just going to replace all of my OQ critiques with a picture of a big frowny face in my dislikes from now on.
– Will, ruining your life for someone is not what love is about. Do not ever teach that moral to anyone ever again.
