. .March 22, 2015 at 9:04 pm #299468WickedRegalParticipantI really liked this episode…Ursula got her happy ending!!! Best part of the episode.
Crossroads:
Hook…Hook…that’s all I can say.
Liked:
Tying up plot holes…Ariel saving Blackbeard…Hook’s ship…etc.
OutlawQueen, though it was a dream, the feels were strong in this one!
Cruella’s snark…yes!
Ursula getting her happy ending!
Disliked:

March 22, 2015 at 9:21 pm #299475RumplesGirlKeymasterWhen I compare this week to last weeks, this episode was far superior. There were moments when I actually laughed out loud, something all to rare for me and this show. But I still think there was a lot of straight up silly and random plot devices (like Ariel!! She’s now a plot device!)
LIKED
–I actually enjoyed their Ursula take. The Young Ursula had a great voice and I’m too much of a Disney girl to not love a good rendition of “Fathoms Below.”
–Snow hitting Cruella upside the head with a frying pan. I laughed. SO HARD.
–Cruella in general. Let’s keep her.
–Belle knowing that Rumple manipulated her again. Hopefully it will help her understand that there is no going back for them.
–The Mermaid CGI was better than I thought it would be
–The Emma and August scene. FINALLY. I forgot that before I disliked him, I really like August. I hope they get to have A CONVERSATION.
MIXED
–August. He feels like he didn’t add much to the story except to just be there and then drop the information that the Author is trapped in the book.
–The Author is trapped in the book. On the one hand–interesting. On the other–WHAT? Confusing.
–Love me some Ariel but she literally did nothing but a plot device to transport some people places.
–The JR returning. I hate that Hook has his ship back because once again, he sacrifices nothing and gets everything. But I laughed quite a bit at the double entendres flying around this episode. And not just with Hook’s ship. There were…uh…adult things all over. (and yes, I am mixed about that as well).
DISLIKED
–A lot of character retconning, IMO. Or maybe I should say a lot of characters saying stuff that didn’t fit with where they were in their past arcs. Like Hook saying that he would have kept anything of Milah’s thus his understanding of Ursula and her voice. Um. Baelfire, anyone? The kid that you sent away when you knew he was Milah’s child?
–I’m really tired of them doing “fat jokes” with Smee. It’s rude.
–Hook being anything other than a straight up villain in the past. He was too Present! Hook and not enough Pirate! Hook
–Pan sent them to the EF for cakes. EXCEPT NO. We saw that in NL you wish food into existence and it appeasers. And then…what. Hook just goes back? Okay then.
–The OQ thing was totally unnecessary.
–Why is Will even on this show if just to utter a few lines?
–Pirate oaths meaning nothing after the episode in which they are said??? Cause. Belle blabbed right when prompted
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 22, 2015 at 9:34 pm #299481MatthewPaulModeratorWay better episode than last week. To be perfectly honest, this might be my favorite episode of 4B so far.
Liked
– Ursula’s flashback was a lot of fun. True it was ripping off Ariel’s backstory from the film, and even the Direct to Video prequel “Ariel’s Beginnings.” However, I still found it enjoyable. Young Ursula was cute, and my inner child loved hearing her sing “Fathoms Below.”
– Will and Hook’s exchange about the size of a man’s ship. lol
– Continuity! So Pan had Hook doing errands between realms to explain why he was back in the Enchanted Forest this early in the timeline. Though I wonder why they didn’t just place the entire flashback in Neverland instead, since mermaids can cross realms and do reside in Neverland, too. They also explain that Ursula was named after the Goddess Ursula, which matches with the established continuity that Ursula is a Goddess who hasn’t been seen in over a thousand years.
– Snow hitting Cruella with a frying pan.Mixed
– August’s torture. A part of me laughed when they used his nose as a lie detector, but it was still weird and awkward.
– August felt a little too plot devicey in this episode.
– So we got more answers about the Author, but the Sorcerer trapping him inside a door is strange.
– I enjoyed seeing Ariel again, but she was underused and another plot device.Disliked
– They got both Ursula and Ariel in the same episode, and they couldn’t have them interact once. Part of me wonders if Joanna Garcia had limited availability, because they had Poseidon cross realms to talk to Ursula with Hook instead of just using Ariel.
– Ursula’s happy ending seems to be resolved, so what’s next? Is she done for this half of the Season already, aside from some possible flashbacks? If that’s the case, I guess Ursula at least didn’t die like virtually every other villain on the show.
– Regina speaking through Snow’s body just came off as weird.
– This is more in regards to the media than the episode itself, but I feel they overhyped what Hook did to Ursula. I was expecting a death involved, or something.
– So, there’s three Ursulas now? Regina Ursula, Deity Ursula and now Former Mermaid Ursula. Talk about confusing.March 22, 2015 at 9:36 pm #299483WickedRegalParticipantThe OQ thing was totally unnecessary.
Well…when you really look at it, and think on what we know about Zelena and what Regina said about the Evil Queen wanting to protect Robin Hood, it makes total sense. I love the Soul Mate Connection they have…she knows something isn’t right!

–Belle was in the episode!
–The Jolly Roger’s back! (I love me that ship. Though that does leave the question of what happened in the last two months for BB to lose it and have it shrunk down to boot?)
–Using Wonderland magic to restore the JR. That was the onceiest moment of the show–all the fairytales mashed together. LOVE IT.
–Ursula as The Little Mermaid was a nice twist. I enjoyed that. And I liked that she got (at least for a while) a happy ending. (I don’t trust it to stick, though, with the fears that Hook voiced about his own past.)
–August being his very Augustiest. And the nose thing FINALLY coming up.Disliked:
–Belle breaking the pirate oath right off (necessary but yeah, srsly?)
–Will being almost completely pointless in the whole season. Why IS he a regular right now? Granny’s had more lines.
–Ariel was there to save the day but only for a second? Aww. I like Once’s Ariel way more than her movie persona.Really, REALLY disliked:
–My brother calling five minutes in and insisting on talking on the phone for half an hour. And I’m like, sure, okay, I can pause TV now…but then the reception went out on the recording for a bit…and then when I went to help Mom with her computer I accidentally bumped the power strip and managed to shut mine down and so I missed a good 7 minutes of the episode. GRR. I watch ONE TV show a week, people, let me watch it, please? Guess I’ll have to watch again when I get it on itunes tomorrow but I’m still annoyed.Keeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. That was explained in the episode. Blackbeard was causing problems in Arendelle, so Elsa shrunk the JR. As for how Elsa can do non ice related magic, that was actually a thing in Frozen Fever, too. As strange as that sounds.
March 22, 2015 at 10:08 pm #299488KebParticipantMeh, I had so many problems trying to watch it I don’t know what I missed 🙁 I’m very frustrated right now, and I’ve got really long hours tomorrow so I won’t be able to rewatch until quite late.

I’ve just come to the conclusion that Elsa is really a sorceress with a specialty for ice magic, and not just an Ice Queen.
