Liked- I really enjoyed the backstory of Ursula, and how it paralled to the Little Mermaid.
Loved Ursula getting her Happy Ending in the end
Happy to have August back, I missed him. I wonder if he will remain an adult or go back to being a child (I do wish Rumple would have done this back in S2 so August could have warned about Tamara but I’ll go with it)
Elsa being responsible for shrinking Hook’s ship
Ariel saving Hook from drowning
Belle learning the truth about Rumple disguised as Hook
Cruella makes me laugh, and since it is the same actress from Dracula it makes it even better:)
Finding out more about the author–I wonder if the Blue Fairy could be responsible for trapping him in the book?
Loved
OUTLAW QUEEN, so happy to see Regina reunited with Robin-even if it was just a dream.
Disliked
August being tortured
Really looking forward to next week:)

Liked: Tying up plot holes…Ariel saving Blackbeard…Hook’s ship…etc. OutlawQueen, though it was a dream, the feels were strong in this one! Cruella’s snark…yes! Ursula getting her happy ending! Disliked: Rumple…the Big Bad folks! The Big Bad!
I loved this episode too! Loved Snow channeling Regina…loved August’s nose! I had one thought about Robin…what if it wasn’t a dream but rather something similar to Rumple encountering Belle in Neverland. He thought it was a vision but it was an impersonation.

Overall score: 8/10. Finally, a passing score! A point lost for potential plot holes/confusions. The score will go up if they can be resolved here or later on in the show.
My apologies in advance for the length.
LIKES
-Ursula’s singing…beautiful yet chilling. The switch to adult Ursula listening to opera in SB. Also I love the twist that it is Ursula who has the beautiful singing voice rather than Ariel.
-The girl who plays Ursula, perfectly cast, good actress and cute. Loved her eyes! Also her facial expressions matched adult Ursula’s pretty closely.
-Hook’s acting, especially in the flashback. I usually find him very bland even in his other centrics, but he was great in this episode.
-Ernie Hudson as Poseidon…haha, nice cameo.
-Eion Bailey again.
-Mention of the dragon in Hong Kong
-Rumple in all his evil glory (no whimpering)…oh how I have missed you!
-Loved Regina taking through Snow….never knew she could do that! I love it when new magic ideas appear on the show!
-Emilie De Ravin’s acting was up to standard.
-Ursula can open up portals. Squid ink for paralysis. Nice continuity. *Slow hand clap*
-The Jolly Roger as a ship in a bottle hahaha And yes, it most definitely unwise to insult the size of a pirate’s ‘’ship.’’ Lol
-Adult Human Pinocchio’s nose getting longer. Haha. Always wanted to see that!
-The music sounding like the soundtrack to the movie ‘’Hook’’ when the ship became full-sized again.
-Interesting Ariel cameo. And finally we got hear about what happened to the ship after Hook traded it.
-Snow smacking Cruella over the head with the frying pan. Haha. Go, Bandit Snow, go!
-The reunion between Ursula and Poseidon made me cry.
-Hook and Emma scene when Hook reveals his fears about losing her. He wasn’t slimy in this scene, he was tender instead, so I was able to enjoy it.
-The illustration on the page is the door, not just an image of the door! And the author is actually trapped inside the book!!!! OOOOh!
OOOH + THEORIES
-So the sorcerer trapped the author behind a door. Last week on a different thread I suggested that the sorcerer was trying to sabotage the author’s work (so that it benefits the author). I will now take this theory further and say that that maybe the sorcerer is forcing the author to write/produce the stories in a certain way that benefits the sorcerer.
-Interesting to learn that as long as there is a savior the villains can’t get what they want….or at least in our world as Ursula said. (I was unsure of this rule at first, but for some people to triumph and be happy, this naturally means that some people need to lose and be unhappy).Would this mean a final trip back to FTL for everyone? It appears that FTL is the land of happy endings, afterall, the land where there is an increased chance of everyone getting a happy ending? How would this affect Henry, would he be left alone in our world?DISLIKES
-Oh so there are two Ursulas. One is the sea goddess of old, the other is the sea god’s daughter? This was probably done to avoid timeline issues, but I would have preferred if young Ursula was THE Ursula before losing her status and aging. I also don’t understand how tenticles make her more powerful than her father but okay.
NITPICK
-Ursula’s very plastic looking bracelet that lets her walk on land. It is not the first time plastic has been used inappropriately, but this one irked me.
QUESTIONS
‘’Glorhaven?’’ Is that right? And where is that? EF? Where was the tavern?
CONFUSION/POTENTIAL PLOT HOLES
-Why do the fairies have an ample supply of magic? I thought all the fairy dust/diamond dust in EF had been stolen in season 2? So not all of their magic requires fairydust? Or did they create a lot of potions before the fairydust disappeared?
-Poseidon could have used magic to take the shell from Hook’s hand. He is deity, afterall.
-The sea god Poseidon needs Ariel to cross worlds? I don’t find this believable. He must be a very weak god!-EDIT: Why was Hook worried about getting his HE as a reformed villian (in other words being worried about splitting up from Emma or concerned about her safety) if he has just witnessed Ursula, who does not appear reformed, get hers? I appreciate that it was foreshadowing, but it just didn’t make sense. Not only that but she got it without Emma going dark!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO
@RumplesGirl. It was indeed the EQ that Regina saw in her dream.Keeper of Regina's bravery

Yes, it could be! Interesting point!

March 23, 2015 at 2:17 am #299525onceaholicParticipantThe OQ thing was totally unnecessary.
Well…when you really look at it, and think on what we know about Zelena and what Regina said about the Evil Queen wanting to protect Robin Hood, it makes total sense. I love the Soul Mate Connection they have…she knows something isn’t right!
Not only this but it segways into Regina trying to contact Robin, and is also probably segways into us learning more about how Robin is getting on in NY, how he can get back to Regina for her happy ending and perhaps some other reasons why he might be connected to the search for the author or the sorcerer.
So, I don’t think it uncessary at all.
Besides, it gives us an insight into Regina’s psyche. There are not enough of these on OUAT. There is usually too much plot!plot!plot! And anyway this character moment actually served the plot.

That was a Little Mermaid reference. In the film, Eric tells his servant Grimsby “You’re not still sore because I didn’t fall for the princess of Glowerhaven?”
-The sea god Poseidon needs Ariel to cross worlds? I don’t find this believable. He must be a very weak god!
I don’t think Poseidon needed Ariel to travel between realms. Ariel simply went to look for him after Hook requested her to. Pretty sure Poseidon can still travel between realms on his own.

Appropriate, that, for someone named after an angel to be a messenger.

-Thanks for clearing that up about the name. I didn’t grow up watching the Disney films, so I can only use general knowledge and the original tales for reference.
-It was Poseidon who said that Ariel brought him to the portal. 34 minutes in:
”a young mermaid found me and brought me to a portal”
Once Ariel tells him of Ursula’s wherabouts, he should have been able to create his own portal from where he was standing when Ariel approached him. Instead, he had to be brought to one, which indicates that he could not create his own portal between where he was and SB.
Actually, now I think about it, he was definitely written as a weak god:
1) because he can’t create portals between where he was standing when Ariel approached him and SB
2) He could not take shell out of Hook’s hand by magic
3) Ursula having tentacles made her more powerful than him.
Even if it wasn’t A and E’s intention to make him look weak, this kind of writing to ensure that the plot moves forward does indeed not make him look like the all-powerful deity that he should be.
And after thinking about it further, I think I will change the score for this one from 8/10 to 7/10.

Now that Ursula has admitted that she hadn’t set a toe in the sea since leaving her father, when I think of her working in the public aquarium and surrounding herself with little aquariums in her apartment in an attempt to hold a memory of what she’d given up, it’s a terribly sad detail of her sad story.
