And RG, Belle got the dagger, when she kissed Rumpel. She basically distracted him, while she took it from his pocket.
Gotcha. Thanks

Liked
Belle- Great in flashbacks and present day. Belle is such a great character when she is given time to shine. It’s a shame that the show doesn’t actually use her in a meaningful capacity more often.
RumBelle squabbling like an old married couple- This was perfect. They were actually working TOGETHER to try and solve their problem instead of the constant break up/make up we get every season. I want to see more of this RumBelle dynamic.
Hades and Zelena- I’m shipping this ship. Zelena all but admitted that she loves Hades and he loves her but she doesn’t feel like anyone could love her. The dead flower at the end and her reaction to it was so sweet. I want this ship to work.
Mixed
Where the flashbacks fit in the timeline- Obviously it is pre-Skin Deep and the mentions of Belle’s mother seems to suggest it is pre-Frozen flashback but the events of the Frozen flashback seem at odds with this flashback due to Belle’s behaviour (she was more childlike in the Frozen flashback) and the fact that if Belle was engaged during the events of the Frozen flashback then how was she able to sneak out the castle and be gone for a while before anyone noticed?
Emma, Snow and Hook in the vault scene- Emma realising the potential ramifications of her actions was long overdue yet other characters still insist on mollycoddling her. The show is better when the characters have some sense of self-awareness and the potential consequences of their decisions.
Dislike
Hades flame hair- They need to stop with it. We know he’s Hades, we don’t need the flame hair every episode.
Hook- Hook needs to shut up and stop criticising people for trying to solve the problems he himself caused.

6.5/10
Liked:
– Regina and Zelena in the diner. Rebecca Mader is crushing it right now.
– Greg still continues to be a great Hades.
– Ruby is back
– Belle trying to lay down some ground rules on using the dark magic. I enjoy it when Belle takes a stand and uses the dagger when she feels she needs to. But I also liked that she did what was necessary and tossed Gaston in the river of lost souls. The Rumbelle relationship is making some strides.
– Emma and Regina using magic together.
Mixed:
– Gaston was ok. I’m glad he actually wasn’t the greatest guy in the world. But ultimately the flashbacks didn’t matter in the grand scheme of the show, which seems pretty typical of Belle episodes these days.
Disliked:
– The dream sequence for Emma. Like why can she all of a sudden have dreams that foreshadow stuff? We all know Snow wasn’t going to die, so everything just seemed utterly pointless.
– Hook continues to be slightly ungrateful and I don’t get why the writers are doing this.
– Didn’t get to see Belle’s mom.
– Why did Hades want Gaston to go overboard? He obviously knew Rumple would defeat Gaston, so then why offer Belle the choice to void the deal for her baby? This just didn’t make sense to me. I get he wants things to continue to decay, but was he really that confident that it would be Belle that tossed Gaston into the river and not Rumple?
– So are they insinuating that Belle started the Ogre Wars?

Yeah I was confused as well. Because the end of the Frozen flashback has Maurice sending out a message for Rumple to come to them, doesn’t it? Which would mean that it’s closer to Skin Deep than this episode.

It’s not even the right colour for Disney Hades. Blue is the default; dramatic emotional moments get red/orange/yellow.

It wasn’t the actor, he was just given nothing to do. He was utterly adorably goofy, animated and loveable as Buzz McNab on Psych, so I remember being excited when he was gonna pop up on Once back in the day, and then his role was such a waste and so disappointing.
I LOVED BUZZ in Psych …. but you are right they gave Sage Brockleband nothing to work with…I did not realize it was the same actor…… ..that is probably why they could not get him back to reprise the role… it is a career killer.

Yeah, why are they going with exclusively blue?

If Belle had sacrificed her innocence in that regard, by agreeing to Gaston’s eternal torment, it might have been enough to power Hades’ spell.

My question is did BELLE push Gaston and he accidentally fell into the water or did she push him aiming him toward the water?
As for the blue hair … is that not because a blue flame is hottest flame in a fire.
HADES is a sneaky …he make deals always has fine print to it … he always turns his deals to his advantage…at least Rumple use to warn people that MAGIC HAS A PRICE….
