Thoughts: I think all my likes outweigh dislikes. Or rather, I like the themes instead of actual characters. The characters, at this point, feel totally disconnected from the show as it once was, but sometimes there’s some serious magical feelings that linger in this narrative–like the power of belief and how it can lead to honest magic. That’s special and very resonant with S1 of OUAT. I always applaud when the show remembers what made it unique and worth my praise.
LIKED
–Land of Untold Stories; a safe haven for characters fleeing for different reasons. That’s kinda cool. Means that A and E have some idea of all the stories/mythologies/legends out there that they could explore if they felt the need. That’s scary but still kinda intriguing.
–“My parents, Hook and Zelena have been pulled through a portal!” “Again???” (I feel ya, Regina. I feel ya)
–Thank God one of the heroes figured out the gardener was Jekyll/Hyde. If they couldn’t be clued in by all the heavy handed hints, then they were useless.
–LOL at Emma and Regina trying to get the upper-hand on Rumple and him never once being fooled.
–“To be fair, I was fine running”
–Dragon! MANY years later and we finally see him again. (Why is it imperative that Regina win the battle with darkness/light within?)
–“Magic is everywhere if you’re willing to see it.”
–Using the power of a wish to bring your family back. “When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are….” that’s powerful. It’s one of the most powerful messages in the Disney-verse. I actually kinda teared up a bit thinking about this.
–Henry encouraging everyone to believe using the idea of nostalgia, the idea that when we were younger and less jaded we were capable of belief the likes that can change the rules of the world. Isn’t that what drew so many of us to OUAT in the first place? That nostalgia for our childhood stories, for a time when we believed in the possibility of magic and hope and happy endings? I don’t get sentimental about this show a lot (not anymore) but that’s powerful stuff.
–Isham’s score for the Land of Untold Stories.
–Violet’s dad is a Yankee from Connecticut. That’s hilarious.
MIXED
–This is a land without magic. And it is a land with magic. Now the writers have made canon the idea that they can have their cake and eat it too. The world building is SO horrible.
–Rumple likes the darkness but he does say that the light is part of him too (even though he links it only to Bae and Belle, which is problematic since he’s lost both of them)
–So S6 is when all the misc stories can play out before the show risks getting cancelled? With a side of the EQ? Okay, I’ll see it through.
DISLIKED
–“I just went to hell and back. I’m not afraid of your warden.” Chillax, dude.
–Henry destroyed magic in 5 seconds flat. Like he literally held up a cup for five-ten seconds and POOF. ALL of magic is gone. LOL Okay. (Also, Ghostbusters much?)
–“This is a serum I created to separate the good from the evil.” No! You don’t say! Thanks for explaining what I can see.
–They actually separated Jekyll and Hyde! No. That defeats the entire point! That’s like…the total opposite of the novella. (also, god that was weird CGI)
–Rumple, Henry didn’t make you lose Belle. YOU DID. You chose the magic over HER. You literally chose the shard over her.
–All those people in NYC SAW magic. Like real magic. What happens now??? It was an act? Like…no. LOL.
–I don’t really like the idea of being able to destroy your dark parts. That’s not how identity works. You can’t just crush another part of yourself. You can learn to manage it; to fight those evil or not-so-good tendencies. You can’t literally destroy an identity that you simply don’t like; it’s too easy. It supposed to be hard and be work. So Regina destroying her Evil Queen persona isn’t…really a good thing for the narrative. It means we can wipe out “villainy” from the characters via a magical solution—without them having to earn it, work for it.
–Did magical mitosis give Regina two hearts? Cause she sorta just crushed her own?

“I still have my fist!” Regina is hilarious!!!!!!
Okay…Rumple and Regina scenes are golden as always! Lana and Bobby play off each other so well!
“To be clear, I was fine running!” Zelena!!!
Violet and Emma comforting Henry!
The Dragon recognizing the war going on in Regina’s soul, and willing to help her win. And then encouraging everyone to work together! Can we bring him to Storybrooke?
Everyone wishing into the fountain!
Henry pulled an Elf Moment…everyone believes and magic will work.
That Regina and Snow White scene was touching! Nearly shed tears!
Emma and Regina embarrassing Henry by watching him kiss Violet.
Mixed:
At least Rumple admits he’s two faced…he loves the darkness!
Sneaky Rumple is forever Rumple!
Disliked:
So Rumple was just going to kill the woman closest daughter to him…wow? And Emma and Regina weren’t even going to put up a fight?! Not very believable writing…
Dragon not dead…how? Didn’t he…was he…I don’t even know anymore!
Season 1 was one big lie….land without magic, and someone had magic!
Snow and Emma….split Regina from the Evil Queen!!! What?! WHY!! Leave it to those two to ruin an already perfect redemption arc, they just had to influence her into killing her other half, when Regina was already doing just fine on her redemption arc!
So Violet’s father was from the Land Without Magic and got to Camelot? Why did Rumple go through 200 years to get here!

I was thinking more of all the children in the world clapping and saying ” I believe” to bring Tinkerbell back…. but that was the Mary Martin TV Special….

Only thing I disliked was if Rumple lost his magic how come he wasn’t limping?
Regina in my opinion stole the show.

I think Rumple lost the limp permanently, after Hook healed his leg. So Rumple no longer has the limp, whether he has magic or not.

Fair enough….except why would Hook’s power be more than Rumple’s? Nevermind, I’ll except it!

Wasn’t HOOK the DARK ONE at the time planning to skewer GOLD with his sword ? He just wanted a fair fight. Renewal of his revenge motive for the crocodile.

They scraped a pass at 7/10. Points lost for plotholes, points gained for Lana.
I am still reeling from Robin’s death. I do not see how he could have got in the way of Regina and EQ separating and the storyline that could come from that but hey-ho…
LIKES
-Lana Parrilla!!!! Her acting was out of this world! Seeing the EQ and Regina together in the same scene really drove home how amazing her acting skills are. We really could see the contrast in facial expressions, tone, body language, all of it!!!
-EQ was EQ again, not Comedy!Queen that we have seen in recent episodes.
-A new idea on how to bring the EQ back. Imaginative!
-EQ in New York. lol. Now we need to see her eat pizza and take selfies in front of the Statue of Liberty.
-Henry’s speech.
-Having an answer as to why teenager Emma was able to use magic in TLWM-because there is some…you just have to believe!
When I was a member on a different Once board (3 years ago), I said that I always thought that our world has magic and that it takes belief to access it. I was right!
-The actors playing Dr Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde are great, especially Mr. Hyde. Bet he and the EQ are going to team up. (Even have an affair. That would really upset Regina if the EQ version of herself gets a love-interest and she doesn’t!).
-Land of Untold Stories-intriguing.
-Gold staying at the ”Hotel D’Or”. lol
DISLIKES
-So Dr Hyde’s evil grand plan is to bring the people from the Land of Untold Stories to SB. I fail to see why this is evil. This dangers of this better be explained in S6!
-That the Dragon got so little screen time and died at the end of it.
-Henry an Violet’s first kiss was in front of his parents. What teenager does that???This m
-Oh Rumple. Box!Belle vs plastic crystal. He reaches for the crystal first ;(
DISLIKES-PLOTHOLES AND OTHER NONSENSE.
1) The moment Regina arrived Rumple had decided that he wanted a strand of her hair to find where Box!Belle went. The moment Regina arrived, Rumple knew that Box! Belle and Zelena were in the same place, even before Regina told him that Zelena had gone down a portal. How?
2) What portal did Rumple use to get to the Land with Untold Stories?
3) What portal did Hyde use to get to SB?
4) ”Good” Regina uses *dark* magic to crush the EQ’s heart. The first thing she does when she gets rid of EQ is an evil deed with dark magic????
CONFUSIONS
1) Was the magical townline disintegrated?
2) Was the tree turned back into the dwarf?
Can anyone help me out here?

Yes, this definitely needs explaining.
My only guess at the moment is the White Rabbit from Wonderland????
