I just read it as an opportunity he couldn’t pass up. He didn’t force the issue, I want to believe, because he DOES respect and care about Emma and didn’t want to hurt her…he just couldn’t resist taking advantage of her desperation. It was RIGHT THERE, and he’s an addict for the power. But I think that’s why he made it so easy for her to change her mind; he knew he was doing the wrong thing and part of him didn’t want to.
And I realize I may be reading a lot into it, but that’s what I got.
I agree. If Rumple didn’t care for Emma at all, he would’ve probably pushed her into that room with the hat or at least got her in there before she could change her mind. However he seemed to be holding back. I think Rumple is conflicted. He knows what he should do to reach his goals but the goodness inside of him won’t let him. This is Henry on the swing all over again. If Rumple truly wanted Henry dead, Henry would’ve been dead. If Rumple truly wanted Emma in that hat, Emma would be in the hat.
I wasn’t overly impressed with this episode. The first half dragged and I disliked more than I liked.
Favourite
Hook confessing on the voicemail- Kudos to him for doing that. He’d rather Emma hate him than be sucked into the hat.
Rumple- I can never hate Rumple even though sometimes he should be smacked around the head. I liked how he carefully orchestrated everything and manipulated people yet at the same time he’s not quite tipped over the edge into full on evil yet.
Robin and Snow more or less telling Regina she can make her own happy ending- This is the only like Robin is going to get on this list. It seemed like actual healthy advice, rather than worrying about the past, work towards your future. Also Snow telling Regina that happy endings don’t happen quickly.
Elsa helping Emma- It was about time someone enabled Emma to appreciate herself.
Mixed
Ingrid- I like her scenes with Rumple where they square off against each other but admittedly I am starting to get bored of the whole “I want a family that loves me” plot.
Dislike: The rest of the episode.
No Belle- Why aren’t they using Belle more? How does Rumple slip out so often for nefarious purposes without Belle noticing? Why does Belle leave the library unattended?
Anna- Anna is annoying now with her rambling.
OutlawQueen- I’ve never disliked a ship more than I dislike OutlawQueen.
The previously on Once stuff- Really doesn’t help when Regina says “If you truly want to save Marian then you have to forget about me” which then cuts to Robin then kissing Regina before they have sex. It very much indicates Robin does not give a crap about Marian.
Robin telling Regina that was the best sex he had in ages- He might have replaced sex with “sleep” but we all know what he was aiming for. Unfortunately that makes it seem like Robin is going at it with Regina because Marian got frozen before he could get his leg over. Robin’s character is destroyed even more with each passing episode.
Regina ignoring her phone so she can bang Robin- Unless Snowing have been calling her up every day for trivial things for the past month, she should’ve answered her phone, even if because of the possibility it could’ve been about Henry (which it was)
Regina turning up to see Henry with her shirt unbuttoned, she obviously got the message eventually yet that didn’t seem to stop her and Robin banging until it suited them. Either that or Regina was checking her messages during sex. There is no good reason why she should’ve turned up in that state.
Snowing not noticing Elsa is gone- She is in a bright blue dress, how could you miss her?
Hook’s heart being so red- What does it actually take to get a black mark? We know Hook has killed and done other questionable things. Mind you both Cora and Felix’s heart were bright red so who knows.
Overall, I really didn’t care for this episode.

But b) it was a night shot, with two characters wearing all black, and they wanted the heart to be visible. So it’s possible that even if it was as dark as it should be, it would still glow a little more brightly both for visual contrast and because of the conditions.
It’s annoying but there were many other things to be MORE annoyed about so I’ll let that one pass.

They’ll explain it as suspended animation. Ingrid needs to pass most of 30 years without ageing, too.

November 17, 2014 at 11:02 pm #290644GaultheriaParticipant— The Charmings are really out of character. Since when does a pep-talk from Regina make the Charmings do the obviously right thing?
Snow and David have this feedback loop going on now where they control each other’s behaviour, so out-of-character stuff is bound to happen. Or at least that’s my take on the shared heart.

Favorite:
-Snow Queen icing the room.
– The page of the book being found
-Elsa and Emma’s empowerment sequence
-Emma doing the magical fireworks
-Rump taking Hook’s heart
– ROBIN HOOD AND REGINA MAKE STEAMY TACOS!!!!!!
Least Favorites:
– Snowing wanting their child to be normal.
-Everyone acting like Henry’s cut was a slice of the neck. Like seriously, the cut was so insignificant, it would have taken a day to go away. They acted like she gutted the boy.

I didn’t see any magic chocolate bars, so there was probably something in the ice cream.

November 18, 2014 at 10:26 am #290678WickedRegalParticipantIn Robin’s defense….what do people want from him? He tried okay….he left Regina to go back to Marian, and the man was miserable, trapped in a loveless marriage! That’s not a good thing, nor a healthy thing for him, Roland, or Marian! And the more he tried to pull away from Regina, the more they seemed to fall in love! Blame it on the Soul Mate Bond if you want, but it’s the truth!
He can’t help that he fell in love with Regina! And he can’t help he can’t fall back in love with Marian! He tried…it didn’t work out….not even Roland was smiling that much because obviously the kid can sense how tense it was between them! That is not healthy, especially for a child to witness it!
As for the whole affair, I just want to remind everyone….no one thought it a problem when Mary Margret and David were having an affair behind Kathryn’s back. And please….don’t try the whole they were cursed because cursed or not…an affair is an affair, and Snowing were not married in this world, least during the first curse! Whether they were cursed or not, MM and David were both fully aware and were actually sneaking around for quite a while, leaving Kathryn to think she was the crazy one and thinking something was wrong with her! That my friends…was a true affair!
There is NOTHING Robin Hood can do for Marian, but wait and be patient that the Ice Queen is defeated. Him sitting there, caressing her cold hands won’t defrost her because he doesn’t love her anymore! She died, he mourned, and he went on with his life…No one told Emma Swan to disrupt the past events! Sweet Oz, the best way I can describe this situation with Robin not unfreezing Marian is like cashing a blank check! It won’t go through unless there’s something on it!
Not saying an affair is okay, but honestly….being trapped in a loveless marriage isn’t okay either! I hate how the whole affair thing had to start because of someone screwing with the timeline, but it’s what we got, so we’re just going to have to deal with it! Robin would be miserable if he stays with Marian, is that really what we want for his character? Frankly, I’m just waiting for someone to explain the concept of divorce(that’s if he needs it because he and Marian aren’t technically married anymore in Storybrooke) to Robin Hood because I don’t think anyone has yet.
Now truth be told…this is my final strike with Robin Hood….should he go back to Marian when she unfreezes….I’ll sink this ship myself!
Meanwhile…let’s just appreciate the moment where Regina kissed Robin’s nose! That’s the look of Soul Mate/True Love!

Bull crap. Absolute bull crap.
David Nolan got torn three ways to Sunday by everyone in the fandom over the MM/Kathryn debacle. Don’t rewrite history to make Robin and Regina any more palatable.

Well people are sure enough defending David/Snow affair now….just to further degrade OutlawQueen’s. Not rewriting history at all, but let’s not sanctify one affair over the other.

Favorites
-Henry and Regina
-Snow telling Regina that her life is made by her choices, and the book tells the past, it control the character’s actions in the present.
-The alternative page of the book showing up
Hated
-Regina and Robin in the vault.
-Robin not looking for a solution for Marian in the library at the same time as looking for a solution to Regina’s problem. Yes, Regina had said there was no other solution except to fall back in love with Marian, but he still should have checked just in case there was something Regina hadn’t thought of.
-On the road, Emma not asking SQ why she was only able to project an image of herself rather than talk to her in person, or SQ telling Emma that Rumple had trapped her. It might not have made a difference but it was the natural thing to say/question to ask.
-SQ going into the urn being unable to control her magic and then being in total control the second she is out of it, knowing immediately where to find the sorcerer’s apprentice and so on.
-Snow, Charming, Regina etc going to look for Emma on foot while Emma is driving about in a car.
-Regina walked away from the Charmings on the road. It would have been quicker poof into the library and back out again.Keeper of Regina's bravery
