When coming to the forums … I always love this thread . . . What were your FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE MOMENTS from this episode 4 X 13 UNFORGIVEN . . .

[adrotate group="5"]March 8, 2015 at 9:22 pm #297894RumplesGirlKeymasterThis episode made me feel two things all at once: sheer boredom and rage. There was next to nothing in this episode except a lot of running around and clunky dialogue in the present and past. Up until the last 5 mins or so, it felt like everyone was doing the same thing over and over: stand around and talk about what we already know, either the author and the book or the big bad secret of Snowing and Mal. And so many contrived and silly plot devices (really, a tree of wisdom and two rocks with hand prints?!) I wonder if my boredom and rage cancel each other out.
LIKED
–Gepetto yelling at Regina. Look, this is a lesson all the villains should learn. Maybe you don’t get what you thought was your happy ending because you’ve done TRULY TERRIBLE THINGS. Yes, you can be redeemed but that doesn’t mean that you get to lead the life you see fit. Maybe you have to actually pay a little. So Gepetto reminding everyone that Regina had caused so much unhappiness and thus she doesn’t get to have it all…good for ONCE. That was like S1 level good.
–But I did like the Regina/Gepetto conversation part 2
–Fish sticks and pound puppy.
–Cruella is still excellent. I like her a lot more than I thought I would.
MIXED
–Emma calling Hook out on his lying (YAY) but then being all “whatever” about in the end and saying it doesn’t matter what he did because he’s not that man anymore. Maybe not, but it doesn’t excuse what he did. People need to be accountable for their actions! It’s basic humanities!
–The Pinocchio stuff. Nice to see Pinocchio and get an August shout out, but what a waste. He offered nothing and in the end it went back to Regina.
–The Mal resurrection. Cool graphics but super convenient when they had a ready made excuse in the fact that dark curse was recast in 3B
–ScarlettBeauty. No build up, just shock value. But as I don’t ship Rumbelle anymore…I don’t care
DISLIKED
–Holy rectons, Batman! So Snowing found out about the Curse from Mal and the other QoD and not Rumple? Kay. Up until now, no one has ever mentioned that Emma had such potential for darkness but apparently ITS REAL GUYZ!
–Whatever Snow did to Mal was apparently not dark enough to darken her heart or be the Echo Cave secret.
–That secret in general was lame and a lot of hype for nothing
–I get that they like to make Regina snarky but sometimes it’s too much in one episode.
–MM’s coat did not go with her hat. It bugged me
–So much standing around and talking about the same thing OVER AND OVER. Gosh. DO SOMETHING
–Shock! Mal and a baby and a rattle! Can you say Angelina Jolie movie?!
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 9, 2015 at 2:06 am #297930KebParticipantNot as good as last week, but definitely had some sparkling moments.
Liked:
–Belle being fierce with Cruella & Ursula
–Geppetto being fierce protective Daddy and just generally awesome
–Cruella. I can see her occasionally channeling Glen Close and that bugs me slightly–but she’s so much fun I love having her on the screen.
–TIMELINE GOODIES…except now I have to move everything near the wedding by about 3 months because I had given them a year between that and Emma’s birth before. BUT. That’s okay! Every clue that makes it more *cough*accurate*cough* makes me happier.
–Rumple’s reactions to Belle…just…heartbreaking how he asked about her and then lit up when he saw her in the shop and then fell back when he saw her with Will…it was beautiful.
Disliked:
–Belle & Will. Knew it was coming, don’t like it (though I did think it was clever that they snuck in the two coffee cups long before I realized why he needed two). If they’re actually going to go down this road, they darn well better explain Certain Things very soon. I have faith that both will eventually return to their true loves, but with Belle still clearly brokenhearted over Rumple’s betrayal and missing him, and Will the same as far as we know, Not Exploring This is going to make me want to throw things. If they just shoved them together to create obstacles for Rumple…No Thank You. If it turns out as I expect, that they’re trying to move past loves that they can’t move past, and they eventually realize that (perhaps long before Rumple does), then…I’ll deal with it for now.
–The whole Snowing thing…Snow can suddenly keep a secret? Baby Nealflake + Snow with Blackened Heart was pure enough to go through the door that Reforming Regina couldn’t in S3, but now Baby Emma cancels out Snow’s heroism because she’s not a savior yet? WTH?
–The secret appears to be pretty much as I called it…I’ll decide later if it plays out well enough to be worth it, but so far…still don’t care that much. And I kinda disliked Snow a lot this episode, and I used to love her character…I came for Snow, stayed for Belle. (If they ruin Belle…make her TOO OOC with Will…I dunno.)

March 9, 2015 at 2:54 am #297934GaultheriaParticipantDisliked: An entire season’s worth of people saying “villains”. And Snow and Charming believed the baddies about the magic talking tree.
Liked: The magic tree hates people. Probably because it’s the last suvivor of magic tree genocide. So, when the council of heroes needs magic lumber to build a tardis, Snow is all “Hey, there’s this magic tree that hates everybody…”

Better than last week. Darker, less immature. Some weird contrivances, but not as bad as the internet/email/Belle/Rumple thing.
I look forward to seeing exactly how Mal ”lost” her baby…how Lily(?) ended up outside of SB.
A point each was lost for the following:
– I find the reasons why Snowing want to keep the truth from Emma a bit contrived. Snow said that she wanted to keep what they did to Mal a secret from Emma so that Emma would always see the best in them. However, their reasons for doing what they did were selfish but understandable, and I think Emma would understand too eventually.
-I also feel that it was unnecessary to write Regina as abusive towards child Pinocchio and then apologise later. Fine, she should lose her temper at an adult to show her wrestling with her dark heart, but I just can’t accept this verbal abuse towards a child.I really did not want to see this in 4b, just like I didn’t want to see Regina’s temporary murderous intent towards Marian at the beginning of 4a. Scenes like these make me less sympathetic towards my favourite character.
I also didn’t feel it believable that Snow was unaware of the Tree of Wisdom in her own kingdom, especially after spending so much time in the forest hiding from Regina and fending for heself. I wasn’t sure whether to dock a point or not, because Snow can be naive, especially about magic.
The actresses who played Mal and Cruella were excellent. I enjoyed their performances very much and I look forward to seeing more from them. So the unicorn wasn’t Lily after all, due to the timeline. I am curious to find out who Lily’s father is, though I have a feeling that that will not be addressed.
Agreed. Someone needed to say it, and Gepetto gave it to her good. The scene would have been even better had she
-apologised without saying that she would never find her HE if she reverted to her old ways…therefore sorry. Really? That’s the reason why she is apologising? To ensure her HE rather than apologising for the sake of apologising?
-agreed that she does not necessarily deserve her HE in the form that she would have originally got it had she been a better person instead of the EQ.
Actually, you know what, I am going to dock an extra point.
The overall rating is 7/10. Still better than the rating I gave for last week’s episode.
Keeper of Regina's bravery
March 9, 2015 at 4:49 am #297937WickedRegalParticipantThis episode was interesting…. 7/10
Liked:
Geppetto & Regina Showdown & Regina Apologizing
Now…it took for me a second to realize that Regina was just overly frustrated and probably on a slight verge of a nervous breakdown for yelling at Little Pinocchio because I honestly halfway forgot I was an Evil Regal cause I wanted to slap her for yelling at a child…I had a slight flashback to when my daughter had told me her second grade teacher had yelled at her, and I went down to the school, cut up like a….you know what, I’m getting off topic! The point is Regina clearly recognized her wrong doing, and sincerely apologized later. That Gepetto and Regina scene was really a clear example in Regina’s slowly, but surely turn around.
Regina and Henry scenes…yes!!! I swear that boy is his mother’s child…Henry’s going to be Mayor whenever Regina retires!
Snow White & David almost wetting themselves when Maleficent was being resurrected, and came face to face with her after talking behind her back like Mr. & Mrs. Big Bad! This was my reaction to that scene:
Kristin Bauer as Maleficent….brilliant!! I think I’m putting #Dragonette under my Once Fan Resume because that rattle scene moved me more than it probably should have!!!
Victoria and Merrin…they’re awesome still as Cruella and Ursula, and that sass round 1 with Lana/Regina earlier that episode was everything!!
Disliked:
Emma’s Lie Detector not working…like seriously…what happened between Season 1 and now!
This over hyped, lame as heck secret that Snowing kept…I expected it to be some big thing, huge let down.
Snow White…once again…it’s We screwed up, We did wrong…no sweetheart, it was you! David slept through the entire confrontation with Maleficent, why drag him through the mud with you again! I swear…that girl makes the worst enemies! And to think Maleficent actually tried to convince Regina to spare Snow White back in 1×02!
We went from:
Maleficent: Have you considered a pet…they can be quite comforting.
Regina: The only comfort I need is Snow White’s suffering…
To this:
Snow: You’re gonna tell everyone our secret?
Maleficent: I don’t care about that…all I care about is your pain.
Snow better be glad she didn’t peeve off Mal earlier or else it would’ve been both Regina and Maleficent interrupting that wedding. And one of them would’ve left some scorch marks in that chapel.
Confused:
I’m confused….Regina once summoned those with the darkest souls to participate in her curse? If Maleficent truly wanted to protect her child…why didn’t she just side with Regina after Snow White declined her offer. That way she could have raised her child in Storybrooke…you know…on ground level.

March 9, 2015 at 8:18 am #297943PheeParticipantNitpick: How exactly did Ursula’s tentacle know where that box was? Does she have eyes on the end of her tentacles?
Random observation: Henry’s voice dropped about 5 octaves, even from the last ep.
Random observation #2: It’s strange hearing August’s name being spoken again. I miss him being around.
DISLIKE: Will and Belle. Just…NOPE.
LIKE: Geppetto calling out Regina! Bless you Geppetto!! And Regina apologising and sounding like she had some genuine remorse.
LIKE: Cruella continues to delight me. It’s a welcome surprise.
Baby Nealflake + Snow with Blackened Heart was pure enough to go through the door that Reforming Regina couldn’t in S3, but now Baby Emma cancels out Snow’s heroism because she’s not a savior yet? WTH?
Does. Not. Compute.
Disliked: An entire season’s worth of people saying “villains”.
There should be a drinking game! It’d make watching more tolerable. (I watched this ep with glass of wine in hand, so I speak from experience.)
I also didn’t feel it believable that Snow was unaware of the Tree of Wisdom in her own kingdom, especially after spending so much time in the forest hiding from Regina and fending for heself.
That hadn’t even occurred to me, but it’s an excellent point. That tree looked pretty extraordinary, like the kind of thing that’d be talked about five kingdoms over as if it were the stuff of legend. But Snowing had no clue it was a thing?

Wow, that’s a great point

Because that’s LOGIC. We don’t do that here
Nitpick: How exactly did Ursula’s tentacle know where that box was? Does she have eyes on the end of her tentacles?
WHERE DOES SHE KEEP THE TENTACLES. SHE IS WEARING INSANELY SKIN TIGHT CLOTHING
But Snowing had no clue it was a thing?
Snowing having no clue that something is a thing has been a theme since s2

Regina said something to the effect of “they couldn’t magic their way out of a bag” or something. FOR SHAME. One of the most powerful magic beings in Disney cannon reduced to a glorified henchman! 🙁

Not just Disney canon, but also OUAT canon because in S3A, Ursula was a goddess. So, they better have a good reasoning for this.
