Not just Disney canon, but also OUAT canon because in S3A, Ursula was a goddess. So, they better have a good reasoning for this.
Ursula had a profitable scam going with the goddess legend, like Regina but better.

Geppetto standing up to Regina- I’m glad they had Geppetto do this instead of playing the “poor Regina” routine and letting Regina get away with it unchallenged.
Regina genuinely apologising for shouting at Pinocchio- Finally a genuine heartfelt apology from Regina! I hope we see more of Regina apologising to people she has upset. This apology was so much better than the fake one she gave Belle because here she apologised because it was the right thing to do instead of wanting to get something from it. The fact that Regina expected to walk away with nothing and instead received help from Geppetto was a heartwarming moment and genuinely felt like Regina is truly redeeming herself instead of having her past misdeeds whitewashed by other characters.
Belle standing up to Cruella and Ursula- It was great seeing Belle be a bit feisty instead of an easy target for the seasonal arc villain.
Emma calls Hook out on not being honest and sends him away- It was nice to see Emma and Hook interact in a way that doesn’t involve pining, yearning or kissing. Emma’s a smart woman, it’s about time to see her demand answers instead of being placated with “don’t worry your pretty little head about it”.
Cruella- I hope Cruella sticks around because she’s great. Her voice can be a bit iffy at times but her snark, especially the scene in Granny’s Diner was brilliant.
Mixed:
Rumple sees ScarlettBeauty- Rumple said nothing but you could feel his heart break at seeing Belle with another man. Great acting from Robert Carlyle.
The baby rattle- The reveal that Maleficent had a child was obvious but I did like how the “totem” was actually a rattle, I wasn’t expecting that. It’s obvious who the child is though.
Disliked:
Regina shouting at Pinocchio- It was uncalled for but I’m glad Regina genuinely apologised for it.
ScarlettBeauty- This ship is wrong. Both participants clearly aren’t over their other halves and that is unfair and unsatisfying to both that they are using each other in such a way. Clearly the writers haven’t learnt that a love triangle is not a good thing the first 3 times they tried it.
Snow- Snow this episode couldn’t give a damn about anyone but herself, it was all about making sure Snow came out smelling of roses. So long as Snow and her family is okay, who gives a crap about anyone else.
Snow asking Regina to go under cover- This is typical selfish Snow. Regina’s worked hard to redeem herself and to have people acknowledge that. Now Snow is asking her to risk all that just so Snow can keep her secret from Emma. Regina obviously can’t go telling everyone she’s undercover in ase word gets back to the QoD so people are going to think Regina has really backslid again.
Snowing chicken out of telling Emma the truth- The whole set up of the scene was cheesy, they come to tell Emma the truth just as Emma is telling Hook how much she trusts her parents because they would NEVER lie to her. Reality check Emma, your parents have lied to you and kept things from you in previous seasons.
Emma summoning Hook- This bugged me because it made it seem like Hook is at Emma’s beck and call. She clicks her fingers, he comes running. She says jump, he asks how high.
Emma not bothering to find out what Hook did to Ursula and hand waving his lies- Hook wasn’t honest about how he knew Neal because of Milah. Emma needs honesty from Hook not just drop it because he doesn’t want to talk about it.
All magic comes with a price!

Also when Charming went to implant the EGG into Maleficent the dragon in season one … He did not recognize her… now we are suppose to believe that he met her prior to that scene right after the honeymoon… THEY ARE REWRITING THE ONCE HISTORY. No where was it hinted that Snow and Charming knew or had contact with MALEFICENT.
PLOT hole #2 in the scene where Regina and Maleficent fight over the curse …. They said at that time REGINA had the curse then gave it to MALEFICENT and Regina wanted it back. Now we are having MALEFICENT getting the curse for RUMPLE.
I do think that LILY is Maleficence’s daughter cause A&E said it was possible that she would be seen again. I do not think they did not have EMMA and LILY meet up in 4a and it not be a significant encounter. Lily would be of a similar age as Emma; to me that makes sense that Lily was the daughter of Maleficent. Lily said that she felt Emma a kindred spirit. She felt a connection … I think magic attracts magic. People from Enchanted forest / magical places seem to find each other … ie Baelfire and Emma … now Lily and Emma. ( Still working on this theory, but it makes sense to me.)

In regards to how Maleficent coming back was possible, this was what one of the writers of this episode tweeted in response:
@Love4LeaM @KalindaVazquez Maleficent wasn't dead. Regina had placed a spell on her that kept her alive no matter what happened to her body

Charming put the egg inside Maleficent BEFORE he woke Snow up. This flashback is after their honeymoon, which took place long after that occurred. Maleficent even says “I was worried you wouldn’t recognize me.” As for the curse, I think you’re confused. Maleficent mentioned in this episode how Regina had just taken it back from her, which was what we saw way back in the 2nd episode of the series.
March 9, 2015 at 6:11 pm #298036nonnieParticipant– I find the reasons why Snowing want to keep the truth from Emma a bit contrived. Snow said that she wanted to keep what they did to Mal a secret from Emma so that Emma would always see the best in them. However, their reasons for doing what they did were selfish but understandable, and I think Emma would understand too eventually.
Having had a LIFE before I got married and had kids I do not believe that CHILDREN automatically need to KNOW everything about their parents lives. Maybe it is because I did not have kids till after I was 35 yrs old. My kids know some of what occurred before they were born… the basics … but the details and some of the facts are NONE of their business. Even hubby does not know everything just as I do not know everything about his life.
March 9, 2015 at 6:13 pm #298037KebParticipantNonnie: The egg was implanted before the wedding. He did that for Rumple when he was looking for Snow, who had eaten the apple. Basic order of events:
–Snow eats apple
–Rumple gets Charming to implant the egg in Maleficent
–TLK breaks the sleeping curse
–Snow & Charming take back the kingdoms
–Wedding & Regina’s threat
–Regina takes the curse from Mal/Charmings have their honeymoon
–Everything we just saw in this episodeKeeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. Favorite:
Emma and Hooks second conversation. You can hate the pairing all you want but that conversation is one of the best on OUAT. It shows how to handle real adult relationship issues in a healthy and respectful way. Should Hook have lied about his relationship with Ursula? No. But stuff like that happen in early stages of relationships. It is more the way they both handled that issue after- Emma calling him on lying but understanding his need to confront that clearly painful subject in his own time. Hook letting his walls down a little, showing his past wrong doings affect him very much nowadays. Both of them choosing to be each other support system, and cheerleader. It doesn’t mean they won’t call on each other’s bull- it is about building way to deal with difficult situations in their relationship. How to point out the bad things while respecting boundaries and how to improve or change the situation. I’ve never thought I would see such mature conversation on OUAT.</p>
Least Favorite
ScarletBeauty- I get the kinder spirit thing- I really do. But I cannot support a ship without none built up whatsoever. It’s like it has happened out of thin air.And I agree with nonnie about Swnowing.

mostly bad,
just very bad – bad – bad,
