Regina/Emma had that scroll thing the whole time?
So Regina could have given RH that scroll, shown RH on the map she gave him the road he needs to get back to the SB town line, then mark the edge of it with some sexy knickers of hers so he could be sure he was at the right place?
The scroll solution was ridiculously convenient. The situation with Robin isn’t quite that simple though, because Marian will die if she’s in SB, and they have a son, which is why they left. Shared custody of Roland in their particular situation would be quite the headache. I guess though if Roland can teleport via scroll over the line whenever, then once Marian’s set up and able to get by in our world on her own, then Robin could go back to SB. (We’re probably done with the plot device scroll now though, I mean, they let Ursula and Cruella keep it, so I doubt we’ll see it being used by anyone else ever again.)

Actually, Regina was seen holding the scroll before leaving with Emma to find Lily in set photos taken during the filming of episode 419. Now that we’ve seen this episode, it seems pretty obvious that Regina and Emma are using said scroll to be able to leave Storybrooke, while having the means to be able to return.

In fact, they probably knew that already…they must have used more than just ordinary telephone lines to contact the outside world just before Regina’s curse was broken.
As I said in another thread recently, communication by cell phone between Storybrooke and the outside world has always been possible. We saw it back in “Manhattan”, when Emma called Snow and Charming from NYC to Storybrooke. Greg and Neal were also able to call Tamara from within Storybrooke before she arrived in town.

1. Belle Has A ROLE. She’s part of the team and acknowledged as such. She talks to people who aren’t Rumple THAT SHE HAS SPOKEN TO IN OTHER EPISODES. (Most of the time she makes a good friend and then…never sees them again.)
2. Rumple being sneaky while in a robe consuming ramen. On my partial rewatch, the image made me laugh out loud, knowing what was coming.
3. Rumple’s swagger over the town line. That was a glorious moment.
4. Rumple’s sorrow at the town line. Echoes of past times at the line (like in S2 when he learned they were trapped, for example) really came through there.
5. Belle & Hook’s friendship. I wasn’t sure I’d buy it, but it actually did feel natural (especially with the time jump and their shared goal).
6. Emma’s smiles. OMG. She was SO pretty this episode and it wasn’t the costume (though maybe the hair–curls!). I think it was just Happy Emma. To the point that I’m almost cool with CS. All the actors in Once are gorgeous people anyway, but I don’t think I’ve ever looked at Emma and gone “Wow, she is REALLY pretty!” like I did in this episode.
7. Cruella & Ursula. I was really not sure how they’d fit in, but teaming them with Rumple got the snark going strong and Cruella especially surprised me with how much I enjoyed her character (I’m not such a fan of 101 Dalmations, tbh, and I was -really- skeptical of how she could fit in, but that performance sold me). Ursula’s character seems like it could have some real depth if they really use the mythology they set up around her in S3, and I’m fascinated to see what comes of that.
Disliked:
1. I know they’re setting up suspense and all, but…whatever happened with Snowing and the QoD, I…don’t actually care right now.
2. Is Blue the Original Power or not? I know she’s a tertiary character, but she’s a big player in the mythology that they’ve set up–only Rumple’s touched more of the characters’ lives over a longer period. I think they really need to play with that a bit more or at least clear it up.

March 3, 2015 at 2:49 pm #297419GrimmsisterParticipantI watched this episode via youtube clips so my thoughts on it is of course tainted by that, but I dont care about the storyline in OUAT anymore because it- oh !.. wait let me spell it out to you and not say it, since I dont want to be rude 😉 –
I dont care about the storyline in OUAT because it is a L.A.M.E storyline!
But I still care somewhat for the characters and the actors. I thought they (the actors) did a pretty good job on this episode in the scenes that I saw. I even sort of liked Snow. She is much more believable when she is not so goody-two-shoes.So Likes-
Regina and Emma scenes. Rumple’s scenes with Ursula and Cruella. I agree with Keb that Rumple swaggering across the town line was pretty brilliant. And I liked the big Bat monster, it looked pretty good and the sound effects where nice- the car scene was well made and looked cool.Dislikes-
Story – dialogue – The fact that the Evil Evil Hollywood monster has chewed up and devoured the potentially greatest fairytale show ever and we only get the sorry spewed out remains, which looks more like a dried up ball of owl spit then it does a story.March 3, 2015 at 11:39 pm #297495PheeParticipant(We’re probably done with the plot device scroll now though, I mean, they let Ursula and Cruella keep it, so I doubt we’ll see it being used by anyone else ever again.)

Had forgotten about that. I hope they at least show how they get it back in that case. If Regina just has it again with no further explanation, that will be annoying.

If microwaves can cross magical boundaries, then SB would be visible on google map, via satellite. No map required!

good point.

March 4, 2015 at 12:33 pm #297547GaultheriaParticipantI think Belle’s attitude towards Hook is believable. She likes to think the best of everyone, including bad boys, just not necessarily romantically (though Lacey isn’t dead, just resting). Belle is the Pollyanna of the show.
I’m disappointed with Rumpel’s infodump about Emma’s potential for darkness. We could have speculated and argued about that for weeks. He could be lying, of course, but there was so much opportunity for the show to hint at Emma’s potential, and instead they just told us.
Did I hear the dialogue wrong, or did they make a hentai joke? OUAT deals with adult themes, but tentacle porn isn’t adult, just weird.

I agree that Belle does like to give second chances and is very forgiving, however, the Hook/Belle friendship is a bit odd at the moment. There’s been a 6 week time jump where a lot could have happened to cause Belle and Hook to be friends, but until we see HOW they built this friendship it doesn’t seem natural. Given the interactions we have seen between Belle and Hook which range from negative to non-existent to not really taking notice of each other in the same room, there is no reason why they should be so chummy.

Nope, you heard correctly.
