Maybe I am not remembering right but didn’t henry say something like “I had a really good teacher”. Which of course means Neal and also that hook taught Neal …so I actually thought it was a super sweet moment that was honoring both hook and Henry’s memories of Neal.
He says, I had a really good teacher: you (meaning Hook)
noticed Regina said “NO” to Emma when Emma was trying to save her, question, why did the dark things go after Regina?
I think it’s because of all the people in the street right then and there she and Emma were the only ones who use light magic? It didn’t go after Emma possibly because she has too much light magic?

The scene where he landed in FTL, and his reaction as he realised where he was, I’m gonna say it’s the best moment on the show ever. I enjoyed seeing him interacting with Regina, trying to get her to believe, it felt very much like what he went through with Emma back in the day, right down to landing on her doorstep all, “Hi, so I’m your son.”
But as much as I enjoyed having Henry front and centre this ep, the scene where he asked the Apprentice about bringing his dad back to life rang totally empty because we haven’t seen Henry at all bothered by Neal’s death before now. If that loss has actually been effecting him, we should have been seeing it, but just having him bring it up out of the blue like that, it was too little, too late.

Yeah, it was very much Adam and Eddy saying “ok, Neal fans. We’re going to do this one more time and hopefully this will end all the questions about bringing him back”

It seems to me that they keep on giving us reasons as to why Neal can’t come back yet keep giving us reasons as to why everyone else can. It gets more annoying and obvious as time goes on.

May 11, 2015 at 12:08 pm #304531KebParticipantCouldn’t watch last night so while I was watching today I wrote down stuff that stood out to me. The last half hour got pretty good, I thought, so I didn’t write down as much cuz I was absorbed (you know, because Belle finally existed…)
So here’s what I wrote as I watched. Might add to this as I process things.
• TIMELINE 1966 (but wait, when did Walt Disney die? I thought that was 68?)
• YES THIS IS EVERY WRITER’S DREAM
• In context (however little more) the peek about Bae made me tear up a little.
• Grandpa’s driving instruction pays off!
• So meta. The fans are cosplaying the versions we haven’t even seen yet.
• Charming’s sword?
• I so love Rumple using his magic to save Henry. So love it. I just wish he knew it was his grandson
• Operation mongoose—silly name—your idea—I laughed out loud.
• Mm parallels. Burning bits of the book.
• Hee, author in the trap, evil dwarves!
• Undone by fandom.
• …half an hour and no Belle, and we saw the cradle but no mention of Nealflake. Oh, and where is Will? Geez.
• Kinda liking Huntsman Charming, poor guy.
• So they’re paralleling OQ with CS now?
• Okay, this version of OQ I could ship. But I still know about the other one…
• Oh, no, nope, never mind.
• Oh, wait, worse. NEVER MIND AGAIN.
• (srsly, what is with this ship?)
• Okay…so the savior was locked up by her mommy? (no, I will never get over “I killed the evil queen’s mommy”
• First entire ep without a MENTION of Belle
• How are we supposed to know she matters if you never have her in ANYTHING? Oh, wait, she doesn’t, does she? *sigh*
• So last year we got the CS movie, now we have the OQ movie, when is the Rumbelle movie?
• Okay, this is a good start.
• Wait, all that babysitting and now Nealflake’s just completely hers? (Okay, I can live with that.)
• Hmm, Hook back in proper clothes. Me likey. (Yes, I’m a rare Hook fan who ships SF, deal with it)
• Yay Black Beard!
• Yay Henry the Hero! (I love that this movie is focused on him again, he’s been too absent)
• Yay all Henry’s lessons paying off finally!
• Star Wars ref of course (I still smiled)
• Oh she remembers I’m so happy! (also loving her dress)
• Ooooh nice twist having Lily be the black guard.
• Giggling so hard at Killian allergic to rum. So so hard.
• If the book is undone, the dwarves will all be okay, right???
• Wimpy Hook in the background trying to weild his sword threateningly is making me giggle too much to focus on Emma’s big reveal to Snow.
• Well, Emma was right. Everyone she’s ever been with has died.
• CHIP CHIP CHIP CHIP CHIP CHIP *dead*
• Oh look they booked the church.
• Oh, Will DOES exist. An ep and a half in…
• Best sword fight EVER and they cut to the wedding in between? No. I want more of that fight.
• Emma punching the author. Best thing since Rumbelle was invented.
• Do they actually remember everything this time? That would be a first.
• She…chickened out. Interesting.
• But he already knows anyway. I was almost expecting a Star Wars ref again.
• YOU CAME BACK FOR ME! *dies of Beauty and the Beast feels*
• Oh…she’s being a hero still. But she still cares. But…
• Did he just steal Rumple’s car?
• HE MISSES HIS DAD! *dead again*
• His heart went…clear?
• Wait, where did Emma GO?
• No, you can’t end things THERE. Jeez people.Keeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. May 11, 2015 at 12:34 pm #304538SlurpeezParticipantI really did not like the finale, and I was left scratching my head by the very premise of the S4 finale. As Lily Sparks wrote [edited for language]:
Look, I might be crazy, but I think this concept of authorship is kind of a crock of crap? The show posits that what we understand to be fiction/fairy tales is actually the history of another realm. Okay fine. Then we find out that Authors wrote these fairy tales as the history of this realm, and also these Authors have magic pens that allow them to make literally anything happen with godlike omnipotence. But when Isaac uses that magic, the fiction he creates doesn’t count because none of it’s real? Because he wasn’t recording “reality?” So if Authors are recording a reality, why do they have that magic ability at all? Henry was so confused he broke his magic quill so he would not have that kind of power over his parents, and lie about their realities, even though they are all apparently fictional characters. I think? Guys. Help. x
The entire premise of the AU makes no sense when you stop and actually think about it for any significant amount of time.
"That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy
May 11, 2015 at 12:52 pm #304540KebParticipantBoth Neal and Hook have been Henry’s teachers for sailing. Hook’s mentioned taking Henry sailing a couple of times when they needed Henry off screen.
So yes, it’s fair to give Hook at least some credit for Henry’s sailing knowledge. No, it’s not fair to leave Neal out of it. Anger is justified, but it’s not completely wrong.
And I just added in Walt Disney’s birth, marriage (to a Lily, no less), and death to my timeline as they are now relevant. I misremembered and it was Dec. 1966, so yep, he was the previous author.

Nope, he died December 15th, 1966. The exact date on the Star Publishing letter to Isaac.
