I loved this episode so much. I’m curious if anyone else has wondered in Regina/Evil Queen may have been Rumplestiltskin’s wife. Their interactions seem like there is a lot of history…
Lot’s of people have been speculating about it. They commented it also on the podcast.
Personally I like the Miller’s Daughter-theory better and Rumple always seems sad when he talks of his wife that he lost. Would seem rather odd, if it tuned out to be the EQ. Also, apparently Rumple is centuries old and I doubt the EQ is that old (even though she’s powerful).
I loved the episode. I guess that was their take on Beauty and the Beast. Emilie was beautiful as Belle. I really liked her character and I hope we see more of her. I suppose it was supposed to be odd for the queen to have her trapped down there or surprise us when we saw it but I think we all probably have good ideas as to why she’s doing it. I just knew in fairytale land like i’m sure most watching that when she rode up to her and started talking to her that something bad was gonna happen. I also thought it was very interesting that they finally admitted what I thought was true anyhow and that Mr. Gold remembered who he was and he knew who she was. My only question now is how does he? He said in fairytale land she would never be as powerful as him so quit trying. Maybe the curse never worked on him? Despite what they said in the show to this point I always thought he knew anyhow. They finally revealed it to be true.
Oh, I completely agree! This was, by far, the GREATEST SHOW THIS SHOW HAS EVER HAD!!! Absolutely phenomenal! It added so many tragic layers to Mr. Gold/Rumpel’s story. Damn, Rumpel’s had a pretty piss poor life, hasn’t he? He’s quickly become the show’s most tragic character. He’s the only character that inspires any emotional reaction from me. I loved him before this episode aired, but now, I’m a hopelessly obsessed fangirl. Thank you OUAT. Now I have another show to distract me from my midterms.

WHOA. That theory didn’t even cross my mind. Personally, I don’t think that’s the case, but if this theory does turn out to be true, I will get down on my knees and worship this show. Very cool theory.
I posted a very long, detailed theory about the Evil Queen being Rumple’s wife.
@fairybelle
Having just rewatched episode 2 “The Thing You Love Most” I have to say it pretty much confirmed that Rumple and EQ were not married and most likely she did not lose a son. The EQ says in that episode that she was to be married, but SW ruined it all; that she (the EQ) lost what she loved most because of SW; and she blames Snow for taking away her Happily Ever After. Apparently she and Snow have known each other awhile. So with that refreshed info I have in my mind ruled out the EQ and Rumple. Although I did begin to wonder if her mother might have been married to Rumple, and then I remember her father, Henry, was what she loved most in that epsiode, may he rest in peace. I will say that her father kind of fits the bill for a humble miller, perhaps:)
