Lightning is the bridge between science and magic in Frankenstein’s world, so I can buy it having the effect in Storybrooke Earth.
That taser produced way more of an arc than normal, though. It probably should have caught on fire or exploded.

And that trailer in the woods how the heck did that get there and why isn’t it rotten completely by now?
I don’t know where it came from, but I’m guessing that’s where Kurt has been living all these years.

I have seen some things in responses to this episode that are just wrong. I think Daniel said in a recent podcast that people complain when they have expectations of how things should go, and those expectations aren’t met. Or if characters they like aren’t featured or whatever. Eddy and Adam are telling the story – not us! I love the show and have not been disappointed in anything so far. And I LOVED the character of August. Sometimes it isn’t up to the show, it is up to the actor and his schedule. We have certainly seen that many times on OUAT. We don’t know the back story at all of what has gone on behind the scenes.

Seeing that Bae is indeed in the book.
Emma begging Henry not to push her away
Snow White shooting arrows to get out her feelings
Emma showing Snow some tough love
August revealing his shame to Snow and Snow realizing she has similar feelings
August redeeming himself
Regina’s blackened sole line- Ha!Less favorite:
Tamara is awful! Poor Neal!
Regina and Greg’s interaction was disturbing.
Not a big fan of this ep’s flashbacks, although I understand their purpose.
August’s behavior in the flashback was quite reprehensible, although obviously that was the point.Overall, this episode worked from a storytelling perspective but wasn’t personally one of my favorites because it wasn’t focused on the storylines I’m most interested in. I like the family interactions best.

Daniel, Jenny and Jeremy talked about this in the initial reactions but tasers do not kill you. They stun you. That’s it. So August dying from that even in a wooden state, didn’t really make much sense.
Which leads me to thing I really dislike about the aftermath: August becoming a boy again (and wearing the same clothes he came into this world with. Like seriously, the Blue Fairy’s wand remembers what his wardrobe looked like after 28 years? That’s some memory.)
Speaking of memory, Pinnochio doesn’t have memories of his life as an adult — so all the character development — totally does not matter anymore. It's like what happened to Lex Luther in the finale of Smallville. funny irony, the little boy who plays little Pinnochio, also played little Lex Luther..
I did not want Tamara to be her, but alas she is and she’s having an affair with Greg. She probably became obsessed with magic after having to listen to him for years about this little town in Maine.
If this wasn’t a Pinnochio centric episode, it could have easily be about Emma trying to get Mary Margaret out of her funk.
There were some other ridiculous things too, like Tamara having access to a “let’s see if this is really magic” testing kit. As silly as it is, I actually want to see what this would look like. And then, if the writers choose to show us, it’ll probably be a chemistry kit you can buy at the Discovery Store or something.
Now that we know the Blue Fairy can make adults little kids again, if Charming and Snow were really desperate to make up for lost time, they could ask her to make Emma a baby again but Emma probably would not be too keen on that.
No Mr. Gold in this episode. 😥 😥 or Hook but he got a mention 😀
Favorite: Mary Margaret blowing off steam in the woods and listening to an ipod or mp3 player.

Oh a super taser then. I guess it shoots out some fatal super-uber-electricity as well? Since it conducts very well in wood.
They might as well give Tamara a lightsabre. It makes as much sense as a magical taser gun. Even IF she would have modified it somehow, that doesn’t mean that wood is a good conductor for electricity.@RumplesGirl wrote:
This was troubling, I admit. But I think it’s that only the Dragon is magical in our world. Tamara said she had found nothing but frauds up until the Dragon. I think there is much more to the Dragon than we know. Otherwise, the only place magic exists is in SB.
Until another magical character appears in our world.
And one of them said magic did exist in this world, just that it was rare. And if Tamara is after magic so bad and has looked for so long, why the hell did she kill the first magical creature she encountered?@SpinningGold wrote:
I mean, how stupid does a “magic Taser” sound, just the word alone? “Oh, look, he got killed with a magic taser!” 😆 😆 😆 Plus she said magic was rare, so how was she able to create something strong enough to take out “the dragon” That’s just weird….
It makes about as much sense as the rest of the second half of season two.

I don’t anymore. Season one was good and while I just got into the show because of Regina I still liked seeing most of the episodes of season one and looked forward to the next ones. And I liked season two as well, at least the first half.
This second half is just like when they were writing the last season of Lost, filled with nonsense and bad writing. The last episode was the last straw for me. I will finish season two, but I wont look forward to it, and then probably not return for season three unless I get very bored. The episodes in the second half has just been uninteresting to me and I don’t enjoy watching them. I don’t even look forward to the next ones anymore even if they do feature my favorite characters, and because every other character on the show treats Regina like shit.March 27, 2013 at 11:15 am #182598nonnieParticipantIn yesterdays TV GUIDE LIGHTENING ROUND… H&K said there will be further information about the SUPER TASER provided before the finale. I thought they implied the TASER had been modified.

Favorite moment: When Charming won “Husband of the Year” when he held Snow close and told her she’d find her redemption, together with him. I love those two together.
This was one of the things I did really like about the episode. Where can I get a Charming of my own?

It’s sad that Pinocchio 2.0 doesn’t get the chance to learn from August’s mistakes. August finally got all the bugs worked out of his code, then the whole file disappeared in a hard drive crash.
Nice analogy.
One of the reasons the de-ageing and getting the second chance bugs me is that I don’t necessarily think he completely proved himself. Yes he turned the car around, yes he went to the cop station, yes he made a phone call, yes he tried to whisper the information to Emma. But resolving to do something and actually achieving it are two different things, (if I had a dollar for every thing in life I’ve said I was going to do, but didn’t actually end up completing the task) and IMO we didn’t see August actually prove himself completely to earn that second chance at life, not from lack of trying, but because they killed him off without giving him the opportunities to see it through properly.
I realise they had a situation where he knew too much, so Tamara needed him gone. I’d have preferred it if he’d escaped her attack and had to find another way of getting the information to Emma, while staying out of Tamara’s way while she kept trying to find him to stop him. Show August having to go to great lengths to achieve what he’d resolved to do. Have him somehow draw Tamara’s actions out into the open. Then if she tased him and they de-aged him, it wouldn’t have bugged me so much, because he truly would have redeemed himself and earned that second chance. I just feel that they way they did it really short changed him, and I wanted to see him come good in the end, because I’ve always had a huge soft spot for him.

This particular ep was a bump in the road for me, but otherwise, I’m loving the show more than ever recently.

I agree. With the exception of this episode which I admit I had some issues with, Manhattan–Welcome to Storybrooke were amazing!! Especially Manhattan and The Miller’s Daughter. And based on some spoiler pics, ect I think the final four episodes are going to be super amazing. I am totally excited!

Honestly, I had never seen one before and wouldn’t even have identified what Tamara used as a real world item if it hadn’t been pointed out. I was under the impression it was a magic zapper and that is why it affected the Dragon and August. (Not to mention, August is made from enchanted wood, not regular wood.) After all, Tamara has been studying magic and seeking it out for a long time. It makes sense that she might have a device to use against it.
