I thought it might be nice to have a ongoing topic so I am planning to post his topic in all of the future episodes. We can post our answers after we see the episode…..

My favorite thing is that Emma has finally found out about Sydney…It took her long enough.
April 2, 2012 at 1:44 am #140565darcyfarrowParticipantWow wow wow, what an info-rich episode!
I think I love that Emma is now trusting August…that brings her a step closer to belief. I’m convinced now that Gold is setting Regina up–as he says, perception is everything–and we’re not seeing the full picture yet. I love that the DA is someone Rumple had deals with–potential for some spillover between SB and FTL perhaps. I like the parallels between Regina’s and Snow’s romances, down to the rings that each has.
What I didn’t like: no Rumple.

Yes! That really threw me for a loop. Her own mother killed her lover right in front of her eyes, yet she turned so quickly on SW? That seemed very forced, and not at all believable.
THIS is the big reveal? The entire premise of the show is based around this hatred, and that’s how it started? disappointing.

From the moment I watched the Pilot I knew what it was, though of course not how it played out. It was obvious. Regina’s heart was shattered in seconds. And it’s not like she turned to Snow and forgot her mother. I’m sure we’re gonna see how she’ll take revenge on that woman. She also knows Snow only meant to help, but the pain of loosing Daniel is so high it clouds her mind.
Seriously, just think of Star Wars III, Anakin only wanted to keep is love safe and did horrible things. It’s not much different β yes, I continue to like the comparison between Anakin & Regina and Darth Vader & the Evil Queen. So, now to my favourite scenes:
1. Regina telling MM she knows she’s innocent and MM expression.
2. All the Bailee Madison (little Snow) scenes. Gods, that girl has done her homework!
3. Emma: “I left my code book at home.” β I love the conversations between Henry and her, keep ’em coming writers!Didn’t like:
That first scene between Gold & Regina. I was so confused about the timeline β¦ Took me quite some time until I realised that it was meant to have happened before the last episode.April 2, 2012 at 1:01 pm #140627a web over her faceParticipant@malchore wrote:

I agree that her hatred seemed a bit rushed, but I have a psuedo-psycho-analytical theory. Almost the whole episode we see that Regina lived in fear of her mother and her magic. It wasn’t until her mother forced her hand that she decided to run away with Daniel. Earlier you see her snap at Daniel when her mother tells her she should ride with a saddle. She displaced her anger onto him, most likely because she can’t be openly angry at her mother without Cora “disciplining” her. I wouldn’t be surprised if she often displaces her feelings for her mother on others.
Regina seemed numb when she was getting her wedding dress tailored. She didn’t come to life until Snow started talking about David and her mother. Obviously, Regina still has strong feelings of rage and hatred and helplessness from seeing Daniel get his heart ripped out. By discovering that Snow was the start to this tragedy (though we later find out that Cora masterminded EVERYTHING), Regina had an acceptable target to focus all her negative feelings on. Snow played a part Daniel’s death and is weaker than Regina. The perfect target is one who can’t fight back.
Regina doesn’t dare move against her mother (yet) because she’s not powerful enough to take her on. She feels helpless against her and has her whole life. It’s probably been pounded into her head that you don’t fight Cora outright because the consequences are dire. And, despite all this cruelty, Cora is still her mother while Snow is a little girl she hardly knows. Snow was just an easy target for Regina’s displaced anger at her mother and Regina, no doubt, kept finding things, real or imagined, to fuel the fire against her.
I definitely believe that Regina found a way to get revenge on her mother, but Snow was still the main focus and thus receives the brunt of her vengeance. It’s a rather flimsy and pathetic a reason to hate a child who was tricked by Cora, who is most likely a master of manipulation and actually did the killing, but angry people don’t always make sense. They’ll strike at anyone nearby, not just the person who made them angry.
I don’t know why her revenge against Snow has taken so long, but Snow was a beloved princess and seems to have incredible luck in finding people who are willing to help her, so…*shrugs*
I hope this post made sense and that I didn’t repeat myself too much. I have a hard time keeping my train of thought with longer posts. But this is how I made sense of Regina’s sudden flip.
April 2, 2012 at 1:31 pm #140631theoniongirlParticipantI think that’s a very astute post. During the wedding dress fitting, Regina just looked … stunned. And then you could see her almost … snap … into the EQ we know.
You could see glimpses of it earlier. She’s been taught for so long that you do not fight Cora. By the time of the fitting, she’s stunned and holding it tightly in check, because she absolutely cannot do anything about it. Nothing at all.
(Note: I’ve been in positions like this, mainly with work. “Yes, sir, I’ll take a pay cut despite the fact you just made my job a lot harder! Yes, sir, I should be grateful!” And then you have to sit there for the rest of the day and NOT let any of it show … πΏ )
And then Snow gives her an outlet for it.
I think we’ll see Regina plotting and planning and learning enough to kill/defeat her mother. I don’t believe for an instant that she’s abandoned that line of revenge. But at that moment … there’s nothing.
Except Snow. And think of how bitter, how very, very bitter, it must have been to see that little girl get her own happily ever after … after all.

Also didn’t think there was very much chemistry between Daniel and Regina. Found it hard to believe they were really in love. And then when her mother confronts them in the stable he stepped behind Regina. I guess I like a little more Charming-like qualities in a guy.
Favorite part: Finding Kathryn alive, loved that part!
April 2, 2012 at 2:41 pm #140638all_aglowParticipantFavorite Moment: First of all, the return of Sidney Glass’ epic trench coat and hat. Yay! Also, loved all the scenes with Little Snow. She truly seemed like a young Ginnifer Goodwin the way she spoke and her mannerisms. Such a perfect actress to play that part. Good for her. And the return of Kathryn! MM is free to go now, okthanksbye. π
Least Favorite: When Daniel died. That was just horrible. Even if his and Regina’s romance seemed a little rushed, it was still sad to see Cora just crush up his heart like that.
Keeper of Sidney Glass' Epic Trench Coat and Hat. He's obviously not using it right now. π
