I saw Sarah Bolger in the TUDORS and her acting was good…. I think the writers are doing her a disservice… and Mulan is getting on my last nerve… so condescending…
These to characters are worthless…. I do not care if we ever learn their back story…. I just want to move on….

It would be wonderful to see Emma talk more of her past with Snow White, and see the latter comfort her. Snow White’s scenes with Ruth were just as touching–I wonder if she thought of Ruth in this episode. 🙁
Didn’t really have a least favorite moment–would have liked more Jefferson and Pinocchio, though.
Also, didn’t really have a problem with what Henry did to Regina–this is something that she would have done in season 1. She would have done anything to snoop around, including pretending to be friendly.

That being said, not sure I care about the actual character of Aurora (which is weird cause I’ve loved the actress in so much…) but still don’t absolutely hate her. Guess I just hate that I don’t care enough at this point about Mulan or Aurora – since they were childhood favorites!
I think the writers are not writing the same stories as our childhood favorites / memories …. The only way I can tolerate MULAN is to realize that the name is common in China so there can be more than one Mulan. Aurora was always kind of a sissy…she could sing…a princess not a fighter.

But it was Henry – who has (in the other two episodes this season) been surprisingly sympathetic towards her. It just feels like we missed a scene somewhere to get to the point where Henry is exploiting her love. Then again, she had no problem messing with his emotions in the past, trying to keep him…
IDK – never been a Regina supporter, and even didn’t really sympathize with her last episode, but she was just pathetic enough racing out that door to gain a little pity from me tonight. Just a little.
Main issue is expecting more out of Henry, but he is a kid on a mission to save his mom and grandma- the ends justify the means and all. 😀

HENRY …. did not fall far from the tree ….He learned everyone from MOMMA dearest….. CORA said that….

Didn’t expect either to be carbon copies, but really did love the disney versions so thought I’d be able to connect somewhat to whatever super-special-awesome versions ONCE came up with – and still….nothing…. 🙁 And I’m kind of bored with both. Luckily, maybe they’ll just be background fodder….
Apparently the only thing I’d watch when I was three was Sleepy Beauty. Loved the good fairies! As for Aurora not being a fighter, I think it would be annoying if every female character in ONCE just so happened to be an expert with weapons and a great warrior. It makes sense for Snow, Emma, etc based on their backgrounds, but not everyone growing up in a castle is going to have the same skill set. – nor should they.
Love the ‘damsels with daggers’ as much as the next person, but I’d rather see Aurora being some type of skilled diplomat, a great orator or storyteller – all as important when the worlds in chaos and needing to be rebuilt as fighting. I keep thinking of Belle – adventurous, brave, intelligent – but I’m guessing not a judo master or experienced with weapons, but still gusty!
And by just giving Aurora of the possibility of being a skilled diplomat – my head canon has managed to destroy the character she’ll end up being! 😆

1. Emma and Snow’s conversation in the nursery.
2. Emma learning to defer to Snow in ogre fighting and in the Enchanted Forest in general.
3. Getting to see James’ mother again. I always wondered what happened to her.Least favorite moment:
The fight with Cora at the end. Emma dumps a little powder from a couple of cartridges into the wardrobe and the thing goes up in flames without even any kindling????? I expect to employ a little suspension of disbelief in a show with ogres, dragons, etc… but that what was just way too impossible, no matter how dry that wardrobe was. That was the only moment in the entire series that I ever felt really annoyed by a plot device.October 15, 2012 at 3:40 am #156702marilouParticipant@NONNIE wrote:

.I agree with you, i don’t think the problem here are the actresses. Unless something major happens to their characters or they suddenly become relevant, I say kill them off or send them on a long quest in a far away land.
It really pains me to say that, I really was rooting for them, I wanted them to be awesome and kick butt all around. Whatever Mulan and Aurora are doing right now can be done by any nameless character.
October 15, 2012 at 3:59 am #156704youfoundmeParticipantI LOVEDDDD this episode!!
Favorite moments: MOTHER-DAUGHTER BONDING! <3 omg at the end when Emma realises why Snow sent her away and they hug and then Snow looks back into the baby room that it could have been and starts crying ahhhh I lost it! I also loved Henry and Charming sword fighting. I am glad Charming is looking after Henry.
Least Favorite Moments: Dear Cora, I hate you. You are such an amazing villain, ughhhh. I am really hoping she doesn’t get to Henry before Emma and Snow do. I also really hate that Lancelot is dead 🙁 It was also really sad that Charming’s mom died, but at least it was for a good reason. I mean, Emma wouldn’t exist without her dying and this whole show wouldn’t be happening…
OVERALL: AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!

That scene was so great probably my favorite of the series.
