Favorite: Jefferson’s reunion with his daughter. Regina being desperately happy when Henry called. Snow White being a badass.
Least Favorite: Henry using the How To Be A Villain For Dummies method of using someones love to manipulate them. Charming letting Henry get away with everything with zero consequences and deciding to include him in his plans. Emma’s attitude and stupidity. Aurora. And pretty much everything else.

Then bail.
Never have I been so disappointed in Henry before.
Gotta love the end bit where we see what snow remembers of the nursery.
This show is turning into a character study of parenting comparisons.

The worst part about that for Regina was also knowing she couldn’t even go to Henry when she figured out where he was, she had to send David because Henry doesn’t trust her. Imagine how that would have went if she’d have shown up instead? I wouldn’t put it past him to accuse her of hiding something that could help bring back Emma and Snow. Before it didn’t really matter much too me fixing that relationship but now after seeing that I hope we see some good moments between Henry and Regina in the future.

I felt bad for Regina getting stood up by Henry, but this has always been his MO. When Henry isn’t invited/allowed to help save the day (for his own good!), he will sneak off and do it anyway. It’s what makes him a fairy tale character in his own right, I think. But I felt sorry for Regina being so excited to have him reach out to her and then be stood up. The one scene I wish they’d had time to include was her letting Henry know that being stood up hurt her. She deserved that, but we may also still see it next week.
I loved “Grandpa Charming” getting them wooden practice swords and teaching him the ropes…it was also Charming getting his longed-for son.
I actually liked that Regina sent Charming after Henry. She knew that Henry might run from her, but that he trusts Charming, and would be more likely to listen to him. It makes me believe Regina wants to change. Will she really reform? Time will tell and it’ll keep me glued to the screen! 🙂
I loved the links between Charming’s Mother and Snow’s short story together and then Emma and Snow in this episode. When Emma and Snow had their scene in the nursery and Emma left, and THEN Snow let herself cry…wow. So true, so poignant, so beautiful.
I liked that Charming actually killing the Lady of the Lake had consequences. I thought that was well done.
I also love that there’s going to be a posse of fairytale land princesses saving the day!
All in all, I think this episode may be a new favorite of mine. I admit, it made me cry more than once!

He wanted her spared, I think, because he does believe her when she told him that she loved him, but he still is wary. He saw her almost killed his grandfather in front of him, and then she forced him to come with her or see his friends all killed. She says sorry afterwards, but it could be that he still fears that she could suddenly change.

It just foreshadows something bad to come, yet the two characters are totally oblivious to it. Well done scene on the part of the director.
Another thing I liked: Emma had trouble adjusting to the Enchanted Forest, insisting on her gun as a weapon, but that weapon caused the trouble (it attracted the ogre) and proved useless against the menace; however, in the end, it was the solution that prevented Cora from using the portal.
Lots of other moments that other have pointed out.
No real “least favorite” moment.

I agree. All the characters are growing more complex, including Henry. He certainly doesn’t want her hurt, as we saw in “Broken” because “She’s still my mom.” Despite all she has done, Henry has a lifetime of experience with her. At the same time, he can’t trust her because he knows all she has done. Did you notice the look on his face when he entered the crypt and gazed at the name “Henry Mills” on the coffin of Henry The Elder before he saw the tracks? It made me wonder if Henry has ever worried, even just subconsciously, that a woman who could kill her father might also be capable of killing her son. I think we’ve seen enough to know that Regina would never do that, but the thought must have crossed Henry’s mind at some time, especially before the curse was broken. If nothing else, the coffin was a reminder of the things Regina has done.
Despite all that, I agree that Henry is fundamentally good and he needs to keep the moral high ground. I hope we get to see a scene in a future episode where he apologizes to Regina for how he hurt her by lying to her. It would be a chance to highlight the conflict he is trying to deal with in not wanting to hurt her but also not being able to trust her. After all, since he couldn’t trust Regina, he had to lie to her to help Snow and Emma. Such a conversation between Regina and Henry could help both characters grow. If Regina truly wants to earn Henry’s trust, it’s going to take a long time and involve actions, not just words.

My favorite is Emma and Snow in the nursery. Big emotional and trust breakthough for both Emma and Snow. I don’t blubber – but in this case………Least favorite, David not investigating the crypt. Especially after he saw Henry frightened by the two headed snake in the box. Surprised he wasn’t more curious since it is Regina’s vault of magic.
.Don't grow up. It's a trap.

.That line in that scene was so good! “I’m not used to someone putting me first”
October 16, 2012 at 4:34 am #156862fairytaleprincessParticipantOk I loved seeing Emma realize that people do care about her. “I’m just not used to people putting me first.” Such a sweet mother daughter moment.
Also when Snow whipped out the sward when she realized Lancelot was Cora. “There is only one person you told Henry’s name to.” I just love our tough Snow! -
