I wasn’t probably the biggest fan of August to start and became pretty frustrated with August after this episode (like so many others – seriously, the guy’s becoming a favorite punching bag š ) but I see part of his redemption arch being rooted in righting this particular wrong; in reuniting the family that might have been. Can no one else see August playing ‘fairy godmother’ in a Emma/Neal romance? Especially to the displeasure of both Emma and Neal and receiving threat after threat from both parties? š Maybe that’s more material for a fanfic than anything else…
I would like to see a remorseful August and have it not be rooted in how he’s wood again. Maybe have him realize how his actions affected Henry’s life since he seemed pretty fond of Henry last season – kind of like a fun uncle.
I’m not too angry at August. His intentions were pure, but the timing was just…sigh…really bad! Out of all the times he chooses to come back, he comes back right when she’s about to settle down and have a baby. It’s almost as if the universe was just screwing with her that year. š

The way he talks to Emma when he first sees her–purposesly acting mysterious to get her suspicious, flirting/almost mocking her…maybe he was trying to get her to believe, but the way he went about it was belittling. She is a grown woman, struggling to keep up with Regina in Storybrooke, and yet he just makes it all the more difficult for her to trust him.
And then he finally revelas himself, after he talks about how he failed, it sort of was like too little too late. He had his chance to really make a good first impression, to try to befriend her. Yes he helped her find evidence against Regina, and their relationship is a good one, but the way he still acted around her still seemed much.

Ugh, me too. When I first saw āThe Stranger,ā I felt so much sympathy for August. He just seemed so vulnerable and desperate. But after watching āTallahassee,ā I see his actions during āThe Strangerā in an entirely different light. Looking back now, the thing that upset me the most was when August got angry at Emma for not believing in the curse. Um dudeā¦thatās your fault! You had the chance to tell her 11 years ago, but instead, you decided to ruin her chance at settling down and having a baby with Neal. So, I donāt know why he was so surprised that she didnāt believe in the curse. No one in their right mind would believe something like that unless they had past experience with it.
But Iām willing to give him a second chance. My favorite characters are Rumpel, Regina and Jefferson, so I really donāt have any room to judge. š

I was under the impression that he had been looking for her for a while now, but to now he found her but basically just screwed her over, then he gets mad at her for not believing when he was part of the reason why she doesn’t believe just struck me as…Really??? At the moment I don’t like him..it’s very possible he’ll redeem himself so I’m waiting for that
Fav moment: Any of the Hook/Emma moments because they were just perfect..
Least Fav: the August/Neal scene it just makes me so madDecember 3, 2012 at 5:59 am #163422faux paxParticipantWhat a lot of people don’t realize about August is that in Tallahassee, he hadn’t yet met Emma face to face since she was a baby. All he had heard as a kid was that he had to protect the savior. No one mentioned anything about Emma as a person, so it was probably easy for him to see her only as the role she was destined to play. After he met her as a person when he came to storybrooke, that view became a bit more muddled.
