Another reason i think it would be a little odd for them to do sleeping beauty in the first episode is because they pretty much did the story in real world in the finale. I mean Emma went and fought a dragon and killed it with a sword through the chest and then went and kissed Henry. I mean Emma pretty much did the prince’s journey from Sleeping Beauty in the last season.
Also i thought that Aurora and Phillip were going to be more reoccurring characters sort of like Red and not like Cinderella who was only in two episodes. Is that not true? And yes they did have to introduce everyone last season, but when they brought in a character into reality such as August or Dr. Whale or Kathryn or Ruby, all those sort of similar reoccurring characters that ended up getting more explanation later, they didn’t just introduce them in their one and only episode. I just think that Aurora and Mullan were going to have a similar role to Red.

Perhaps the finale was meant to be a foreshadowing of what’s to come in SB in 2×1. It would be setting up season two with everyone awakening to the realization of their true identities. Also, the Sleeping Beauty story could vary from the original fairy tale to an extent that the parallel isn’t too great (like Cinderella or Red’s story in S1).

Well when they do sleeping beauty they will show the before and after around the story and not the actual story. Like they have for all the stories they have done so far.
I think this is a new reveal, probably from 2×2, which we know will have a flash-back to FTL of how Regina met Rumpel, and presumably Cora, the miller’s daughter. It’s been theorized we’d learn how Regina learned magic. Well, take a look at Cora holding what appears to be a book of spells.
It looks like the same one Regina was holding in filming shots from 2×1. So, presumably, Regina inherited or stole her mother’s book of spells! 😮

I cannot wait to see this episode! Regina, Cora and Rumpel all in the same flashback? Count me in! I wonder where Cora got her book of spells from? The easy answer would be Rumpel, but it would be interesting if she came up with the spells herself.

I dunno if it’s just the angle of the shot, and/or the face she’s pulling, but Barbara looks made up to look younger in that pic. I’d love to see them go back to the miller’s daughter story as well as showing stuff from when Snow was young. Can’t wait for this ep!
She does sort of look younger. Young Snow is going to be in this episode though right. It may just be because Cora is not wearing black and has her head tipped back. Does she ever wear color in Stable Boy?
Cora did wear a tad of color in Stable Boy, but interestingly, it was mostly maroon. Could be a hint she is in fact the QoH. Can anyone make out what pendant her necklace is?:
