In my opinion, nothing to do with Rumpel is going to be a climax of a season. If Bae is the father then the climax is going to be about his relationship with Emma and Henry. Rumpel will just continue doing the behind the scenes things like he does now.
Why not? Rumpel delivered season 1’s major cliffhanger. It’s not that out of the box.

Yeah, I agree. I wouldn’t be surprised if the season 2 cliffhanger or climax has something to do with Bae. Rumpel was the catalyst for the season 1 cliffhanger, so anything is possible. 😉

Pinocchio’s story isn’t over just yet. We still have to see how magic affects him being a puppet and whether he’ll turn into a real man again. Also, we have yet to see Geppetto recognize August as his adult son. There’s also his connection with Emma from childhood, and there are bound to be more flashbacks about Emma, with possible room for Pinocchio.
Agreed. Even if August and Archie haven’t been promoted to regulars, I think there’s still a place for them to be worked into the story. The news of their status came from someone who posted on imdb that they’d emailed the PR department to ask about the main cast, and they were told: “Eion and Raphael are recurring and will be featured in the upcoming season.”

Eion Bailey probably has other commitments in other shows and may not be able to commit to more stories
Don’t know for sure, but I hope he has a small commitment on another show called ‘Covert Affairs’. It’s on USA Network. He was the main character’s, Annie Walker, former love interest. His character would pop in for bits and pieces in a few episodes. The first season had flashbacks with the two of them at a beach. Then he mysteriously disappears one night leaving a cryptic note. She looks for him. Goes back to their other hangouts. Nothing. She gives up and returns back to the US but keeps the note and bracelet. Years later she becomes a CIA operative where eventually she finds out he is one, too.

Because Rumpel is a plot device. And the cliffhanger is not the climax of the season. The climax of this season was all Emma. Rumpel’s plot was the cliffhanger plot device like he always does.
July 14, 2012 at 8:41 pm #151846midnight drearyParticipantPersonally, I don’t think Rumpel is a plot device. If he had zero character development or no character centric epiosdes, then he would be a simple plot device. But that’s not the case. But hey, to each their own.

LOL! Sorry but this post cracked me up! 😆 I think quite a few people would disagreement with your assessment of Rumpel’s character. He’s recieved way too much character development and screentime to be considered just a plot device. I know you’d probably like to think of him that way, but that’s not the case at all.
July 14, 2012 at 8:48 pm #151852hjbauParticipantYes, but all of his episodes are back story and everything he does in an episode is plot device stuff like explain about the love potion or give Snow a bow so she can try to kill the queen or give Charming the ring so he can find Snow or help Cinderella get to the ball. I mean he never does anything. He just does the in between stuff or explains something to the audience so we know what is going on.
It is fine for a character to be that, but, in my opinion, it is what it is. And the character has been very static. He is centuries old and doesn’t seem to have changed much at all. And i am fine with disagreeing, but it is what it is. And no worries i find your point of view just as ridiculous.

So the writers giving us episodes that tell us about him before he was the Dark One, when he was a coward, when he was poor, introducing us to his son, introducing us to his true love Belle, having him lose his son, him freaking out over Moe French, and his “reunion scene” with August is all just a plot device? Yeah, that sounds about right. No character development in there at all. 🙄 😆
I know you don’t like Rumpel and pretty much shoot down any attempt to give his character development or depth, but saying he’s just a plot device is just incorrect.

I find it odd that you left out all of Rumpel’s actual character centric episodes and just listed a few scenes with him and other characters. You left out Skin Deep, Desperate Souls and The Return. No bias there. 😆
