I love that Neal is going to use his dad’s magic orb from 2×5! I had a theory last year about how Rumple used it as a palantír (aka “seeing stone”) like the one Sauron used to communicate with Sauraman in ‘The Two Towers.”

They’ve been suggesting Rump has been there before. He knew what it was on the map and he obviously has a history with PP. Im sure if he did see Bae in the crystal ball, he would have jumped in Jeffersons hat and been there to try and find him.

What if Rumple had observed Baelfire clutching the doll in the blue coat, the one that made Rumple sob in the 3×1 sneak peek? As TheWatcher pointed out, we know Rumple has a history with PP and has likely been in NL before. If so, then maybe Rumple tried to go head-to-head with PP but lost. So, Rumple had to resort to plan B, which was to press on in his goal of getting Regina to cast the curse on his behalf, since it had been prophesied that was how he’d be reunited with his son again one day. I

Unless Rumple was too scared of PP to go get Bae. Rumple seems utterly terrified of the boy. But somehow he knew Bae was alive to have Regina cast the Curse even though Bae had been missing for 250years.

It’s a funny visual though to picture MRJ in ruby slippers….(though they’ll likely have to do silver slippers due to MGM copyright on the ruby ones, and was silver in the book anyway. They don’t have to be high heeled women’s shoes…slippers could be like house shoes that both men and women wear).
Am I missing something? Rumple doesn’t have the slippers. They escaped into the world he wanted to go to, eluding that Dorothy took them back to Kansas with her. They’d be out of Neal’s clutches just like they were out of Rumple’s.
