When Regina said to Mr. Gold that the only way Emma would have Henry as her son would be over Regina’s dead body, I thought that was an important foreshadowing of Regina’s inevitable downfall. Moreover, there is a theory that Regina’s apple tree is a symbol of her power. This seems to be confirmed by the fact that Regina’s tree’s apples are dying, which Regina attributes to the weakening of the curse. If Emma were to kill the tree, I wonder if that would not only kill Regina but also potentially put an end to the curse. I know Mr. Gold said that Emma would have to die for it to end, but what if he is just saying that to prevent Regina from killing Emma? It could be that Mr. Gold wants Emma’s life to be preserved and the only way to insure Regina doesn’t kill Emma is to make Regina believe that the curse is tied to Emma’s life. As long as Emma lives, the dark curse continues and Regina keeps power. That would be a very crafty lie indeed, and Mr. Gold is king of cunning.

So there must either be some other way or something he needs from Emma that she needs to stay alive for.
As for Regina, I took that as a forshadowing too. When she said it my head just went “that can be arranged” xP The tree does seem to have some connection to her power but I doubt she’d die if it were cut down, if she were physically connected to it we’d have seen a bigger reaction when Emma cut the branch off it.

So I was thinking that maybe he could hire Emma in the future in order to find him (because finding missing people is her job). I mean, how is he going to look for Bae in such a huge world!? Maybe Emma’s ability to find people is like her power as a “lying detector” so that could definitely come in handy to help Mr. Gold.
Now about Regina… I don’t want her to die!!! :'( I know she’s evil & everything but she & Rumple are SUCH GREAT characters! I know it’s a possibility that she could die because that would be a “WOW” moment in the series but I really would like her to be in season 2 at least. 🙁 Also, what would happen to Belle if Regina dies?

Is Regina’s dream foreshadowing? Or was it just a dream? If she were to have Storybrooke turn on her, is that how it would play out?
KITSIS: I would say that it was definitely foreshadowing in the last episode, and I think that if you watch the finale and you go back, there will be a few things in there that will make people go,“Ahhh.”http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/05/08/once-upon-a-time-season-finale/

He created the curse to find Bae but there has to be more to the curse that is unsaid. If it were that simple she’d be six feet under. This could mean a couple of things: Bae’s dead or Bae is not main reason he created the curse and he has an ulterior motive.

I agree. I had said same thing in another post. Emma used to find people in her old job. So to me it makes sense that Mr Gold would “hire” her to help find Bae.
May 26, 2012 at 11:21 pm #147771the_saviorParticipantI think when Gold told Regina that breaking the curse would happen if anyone killed Emma is possibly foreshadowing,
I just think that he still needs her for that “favor” and that’s probably why she hasen’t been killed yet. I mean, she is part of the curse, and maybe one of the repercussions of magic being unpredictable in our world is that Emma has to die for them to fully return to Storybrooke.
Who knows… lol
May 27, 2012 at 1:06 am #147775hjbauParticipantYeah if everyone is still stuck in town. Then maybe Emma will search for Bae outside of town if she can still go. Though the show may just lead there.

I agree. I mentioned this on another post. I think Emma will leave town to go find Bae. Now how she leaves is another matter. Will she leave the normal way – on a road trip? Or will she have access to magic (or Jefferson’s hat) that will teleport her to another location in either this world or other realms? Maybe she’ll get sucked (or suckered) into an infinite loop that takes her from one location to another until she finds Bae.
