So, at the beginning of “Tallahassee”, we learn that the Mystery Man goes by the name Neal Cassady. Here are four reasons why I think that he is the White Rabbit:
1) The VW Connection — I'm a second generation VW lover, and a couple years ago I went shopping for a new car and looked specifically for something from that brand. For a few days I seriously considered buying a VW Rabbit. (Yes, it was white, and I really, really, really wanted to have a personalized plate that said “IM LATE”! But–dangit!—it was four times over my budget, and I wasn’t about to go into debt. 😥 Any ways…) I think there is a slight nod to Wonderland here. Or, is it a coincidence? Or, is it serendipitous? 😉
2) The Watches — The White Rabbit was totally into his pocket watch, and he would be familiar with a watch's value. The one he gave Emma looks like it could have been a pocket watch reset onto a wristband.
3) “Neal Cassady” — This guy was one of the handful of people who promoted psychedelic drugs in the 1960s. Wonderland has been compared for years to be inspired by hallucinogenic drugs.
4) No shock at the word “curse” — If he weren’t from a magical land, he would have called August crazy for saying that Emma could break a curse.
And, I am open to the idea that he could also be Bae. I’m not 100% in this idea yet.
