Honestly, was my favorite moment from ‘Skin Deep.’ So, I did some digging around tumblr, to see if I could find a gif animation, just to freeze in time on my tumblr, so whenever I need a good laugh all I need to do is look through my calender and I can watch Gaston go ‘poof’ over and over. 😆
I actually found two nice gif animations, and reblogged them. Which you can find under the tag “Gaston goes poof’
Yes, I know 😆 I have a twisted sense of humor.
My memory of the scene was that Gaston said he was a ‘Prince’ or something but he referred to himself as ‘Sir’ Gaston. So, I’m wondering how was Gaston noble? Was he a knight or something, or did he just become noble to win Belle’s affections?
Because in the Disney movie, there is nothing noble about him. He was only a Hunter, and really liked looking at himself. Because he was the best, and his happiness could only be complete if he married Belle because she was the most beautiful in her village.

I didn’t take my opinion of him from the Disney movie into this episode because I didn’t know how it would turn out. Belle did say she really didn’t care about him but I don’t think he was nearly so bad in this version. I was really surprised and impressed when he showed up to save her. I thought that was noble and nice. 🙁
However, I get the twisted amusement side too. I’m not bashing you for that. There are points in the Disney movie where you do wish he would poof.

I’m filipino and I have real aunts and uncles but it’s also tradition to call close elders who aren’t necessarily your aunts and uncles, auntie or uncle as a sign of respect. I wonder if it’s the same in FT land. The guard called Belle’s father sir but that could also be a sign of respect.
Either Gaston was actually knighted or noble enough that people referred to him as ‘sir.’ Just a thought.

He could have been put in charge of the village because he achieved rank. I think this was a common practice. Young men usually of some sort of noble birth / second sons could achieve honors due to service rendered to the king/ prince / overlord. That would be away a king/ prince would maintain loyalty by honoring someone who gave service. …. keep it all in the family/ loyal friends.

Nah, Rumple turn Gaston into a flower. No doubt in my mind. The Evil Queen said that he went missing. Plus, Rumple may have wanted Belle all to himself.

😆 😆 😆 I do not doubt this. It would be completely in character for Gaston to think about how to make his entrance over how he should rescue Belle. 😆
