I thought “Broken” was a great episode. It had some surprises and a great ending. Can’t wait to see what happens with emma and snow and where they are going to take the show from here, as well as any new characters that come. I wasn’t too impressed with Mulan, but I liked Phillip. I love how they brought in the wraifs or however you spell that, and have now taken the show in a different direction. I also love how they have introduced the flashback and now flash sideways! lol! Now we have people in the present in the fairytale land, as well as in the past and the present real world. <3 Look forward to the rest of the season.

October 4, 2012 at 12:30 pm #155416gypsyParticipantActually, LOST had flashbacks, flashforwards and flashsideways – 3 different concepts…and the flashsideways were only S6
October 4, 2012 at 2:08 pm #155418hjbauParticipantBut the flash sideways were not actually flash sideways into another world. There were flash forward into their life after death. The producers just called them that because they were trying to keep it a secret the fact that they were actually flash forwards into those characters future. These on ONCE are actually flash sideways into another world.

In S6 in LOST, the flashsideways were an alternate reality (created because of the paradox when jughead went off)….that is evident by the running theme of reflections throughout most of the eps…..mirrors, window panes, etc. The flashforwards started when we see Jack and Kate at the airport and Jack delivers the now famous line “We have to go back!”

The scene where Snow White and Prince Charming see Emma, who looks so very lost and uncomfortable, and hug and cry for her was so touching and sweet. Henry calling Prince charming grandpa was really cute, too. Emma had been looking for her parents for so long, and not only did she (a little) looked touched, but also a bit scared. 🙂 And I love how Snow white was trying to get to Emma–also revealing her one-bight stand with Dr. Whale. 😆
The reunion with Belle and Rumpelstiltskin was sweet, but I wasn’t surprised at his finding a loophole. This is a man who makes his living out of loopholes and manipulation. I also disagree when he said he deserved a thank you–true Henry lived, but he really hurt Emma. She believed Henry to be dead, and Rumpelstiltskin allowed her think that–he should know more than anyone about the pain of losing a child, and yet he put her through that.
I did think it sweet that Belle returned to him. 🙂 And I hope we leanr more of her time in both Fairytale Land, and in Storybrooke before the curse broke.
I actually felt a bit of sympathy for Regina…until she tried to kill Prince Charming. Also, why lie about Jefferson? Everyone remembers, Emma believes in the curse–she would not be surprised if Regina had betrayed Jefferson. What does she gain? The only thing I can think of was that she was afraid that Emma would change her mind about helping her if it was revealed what she had done to Jefferson.
Henry calling Regina his mom was not surprising. I think her last words to him in A Land Without Magic got to him. And maybe he was hoping that she would change. Also, I partly think his calling Regina mom was to stop her from killing Prince Charming–not to mention his trying to make her help in finding Emma and Snow White…might be a way of helping them out.
It is a bit sad that everyone seems to hate Mulan–she has only been in one episode, and we haven’t really seen a whole lot of her.

You have the big dramatics of Emma being pulled into the hat and Snow following after then along comes Charming and the hat becomes flat or rather flatter.
All magic comes with a price!

But they weren’t flashes into an alternate reality. They weren’t. That was why Desmond was so at peace near the end of the last season. You know how his power was that his mind would move through time and he would see bits and peaces of his future and his past. So he was at peace because he had popped into their futures and seen them all together their in the afterlife. That was the real and true future in the afterlife of all of the characters. They were attempting to imply throughout the season that it was an alternate reality, but it was not. It was the future for those characters.
In ONCE the Enchanted Forest is actually another reality.

There were things i liked, but there was a lot of annoying in this episode. Which is bad for a first episode i think. They need to be good. I think they need to do better then this. Having Snow and Emma in fairytale land is at least interesting. Hopefully things will be more interesting in Storybrooke though at this moment i doubt that because i don’t really care what is going on there.
