Personally I love them both. I tend to be a bit more vocal about Hook but only because he gets attacked a lot (I see way more in him than just a pretty face and a nice voice!).
That being said I really do love them both, why must I choose?? They’re both driven by love and have done horrible things in the name of it but have potential to turn around if the right person can access that little piece of humanity they still have so as much as I love Hook I really am torn about this. Hoping that once we see more backstory others are more torn as well (we’ve seen way more Rumple so it makes sense to feel more for him at this point as many do).
So…a vote for both? Or they just cancel each other out or what?

Come on. as a Hooker, you make anyone that even tempts that, walk the plank. Are you a buccaneer or not? Swashbuckle your way through it.
Though… Robert Carlyle is the better swordsman appearantly. Best in class!

I prefer Gold, but I don’t dislike Hook. I just feel like I don’t know enough about Hook to really make a comparison. I hate the idea of taking out his revenge fantasies on Belle, so right now, one vote for Gold. (Could I give half a vote to Hook?)
Add another vote for Gold. He’s a fascinating figure who has so many facets to his character. He’s been one of my favorite characters since the series started, and Robert Carlyle is amazing. The man needs no words to convey even the most complex emotions. Plus, I’m a Rumbeller.

As long as he does not kill Henry. Then I have to change my vote. He can’t, can he? I mean, especially as Gold, he knows the value of love and family, without the Dark one in the way. He made the mistake to choose his magic over his son. Surely he would not make that mistake with his granson.
