So I’ve been struggling with how/why Gold shows up just in time to tell them he can’t make a portal. I mean, we know that he sensed as soon as the world stopped ending, and he and Belle are both curious people who would want to know what happened. But why did they suddenly go to the docks in time to learn that Henry was taken? It was almost Blue Fairy-like, except nobody called for him, nobody even expected him to care anymore.

So…headcanons? WTH?

Where is Mr Gold’s shop in relation to the docks? Is it possible the Charmings and Regina ran past there on the way, and Rumbelle followed to see what was going on?

I suppose that’s possible. And it’s a small town–almost everything seems to be in close proximity. I mean, it took David like three minutes to find Snow after she gave Regina Cora’s heart? I think Rumple came out the back door which is apparently across the street from the library (I want a real map so badly…).

It is true that Rumple has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. So we could chalk it up to that, I suppose…but yeah, it did seem like they came out of nowhere.

I’ve always been under the impression that it was the magic that led him there. Like the “Force” he sensed it. He Rumple after all he always pops up unexpectedly in pretty much every episode he is in. You turn around BAM he’s there!
