There were several times tonight when Weaver seemed to be playing both the good cop and the bad cop. He helps Victoria but does not work for her and openly defies her when he can. He also seems to be testing Rogers quite a bit. Where are Weaver’s alligences and what is his motivation in HH? Also, does he have his memories of being Rumple–there were a few times when I thought Bobby played it like Weaver does.

I think he most certainly has his memories and is being the Rumple we all know and love. He is playing the middle against the ends. I think ultimately, he is there to help his grandson and maybe break the curse (?). This is his only motivation and anyone who helps him with that he is aligned with and anyone who does not he is against. Right now he thinks Rogers (who I believe is cursed) can help him so he is using him, if at some point in time he wants Lady Tremaine to believe he is working with her he will do what he needs to do to make it appear so. It is a very season 1 feel with Rumple which I absolutely love!
October 13, 2017 at 9:49 pm #343204RumplesGirlKeymasterI really liked Weaver this episode. He was very Rumple Season 1, keeping me guessing as to what he’s up to and what all he knows.

October 14, 2017 at 4:30 pm #343291SlurpeezParticipantI like Weaver, but I don’t get him. In 7×1 he was water-boarding someone, but in 7×2 he was testing Rogers to see if he were moral enough. Why? Rumple is the dark one who has long been morally conflicted, but why does he desire to have a partner with a strong moral center? Weaver probably remembers who he really is and wants Rogers to break the curse by finding his long-lost daughter and giving her a paternal TLK to break the curse so that Rumple can return to Belle and Gideon.

We don’t even know why or how Rumple got swept up into this new curse since he didn’t appear to come directly to Henry’s aid although he did send Alice to warn his grandson not to get involved in someone else’s story, lest bad things happen.

THIS. I don’t really wanna get my #hopes up about it too much, because do we dare to dream that Rumple actually acts like Henry is his grandson?! But it’d be really nice if it ends up being the case. I mean, evidently he’s been checking in on Henry in EF2 enough that he thought it necessary to send Alice to intervene, so that must mean he cares at least a little bit. Given his history of having searched for and ultimately failed at protecting Bae, he’d have believable motivation for being more vigilant with Bae’s son so that history doesn’t end up repeating itself. The problem is is that up until now they haven’t shown Rumple as being overly invested in the fact that Henry is Bae’s son, so as much sense as it would make, they’d need the character to make a bit of a leap in order to be suddenly invested now. But I guess people acting out of character would be nothing new for this show, so.

I’m not convinced that he did get swept up in the Curse. If he was keeping tabs on Henry in EF2 back when he first met Cinderella, then odds are pretty good that he also knew about the Curse happening, even if he wasn’t there for it himself. So he saw it happen from where he was in our world, and then he figured out where in our world the Curse sent them all. Then packed his stuff and moved into HH under the guise of someone with authority in the police dept, so he can have the access he needs to all the people in town in order to help get his grandson’s family straightened out.

Right now I’m sorta headcanoning that Rumple went looking for his missing daughter, Alice. He found her and sent her after Henry to warn him while he dealt with “something” (to be determined) and because he was still in a magical realm at the casting of the curse, he got swept up.
